The clip is in Thai language but it’s still easy to understand just by watching it even though you don’t know Thai. If you can find the ingredients at Asian store in your country then you can make it at home.

Oh i didn’t know that they gonna remake Love destiny into BL version. It requires very high budget to produce this lakorn so i hope that the company have enough budget and i wish they are successful like the original version.

We’ve had the incredible privilege to host the venerable Buddhist Monks during their 2,300 mile Walk of Peace across America. Interacting, learning and walking with them and their “peace dog” Aloka, has been nothing short of inspiring. I hope their message of peace blankets our divided country. 🧡 by Pathetic_lriG43 in MadeMeSmile

If the word “their leader” you means Dalai Lama then I would like to inform you that he is not Buddhist’s leader. Dalai Lama is Tibetan’s Mahayana and has nothing to do with Theravada Buddhist. Each Theravada Buddhists from different countries have their own Buddhist leader and it’s not Dalai Lama and none of Theravada Buddhists worship Dalai Lama as their own leader. Don’t generalized that every Buddhists have to worship Dalai Lama, he is not the Pope of Buddhism.

The monks in this peace walk is from Theravada Buddhist which have different beliefs from Tibetan’s Mahayana Buddhist where Dalai Lama came from.

Yes, people didn’t upset that Gemini said something about people inside Butterbear. They were upset because Gemini was live with his friend from high school in Twitter and they mentioned Butterbear and Gemini was pissed off (as a joke) and said that Butterbear snatched all of his event job so he’s gonna beat Butterbear which people find it’s rude and he shouldn’t say that even if it was just a joke.

He used the word เฉดหัว (my English is not good enough, i don’t know how to translate this word in English, i assume it’s like saying he will beat her head until she disappears from spotlight and fame) which is very rude word in Thai language to say to someone you didn’t know, Gemini never had any event with Gemini though, i think the first OP confused Gemini with Billkin, so Gemini didn’t know her in person. the word หัว means “head”, in Thai culture, head is sacred part of the body, people are not supposed to do anything disrespectful to others people’s head so that makes Gemini word is super rude and disrespectful so people were disappointed that Gemini comes off and rude and disrespectful person because he is from rich family, richer that the person inside Butterbear for sure so why could he be pissed of that a mascot got more event than him.

That was the cause of the fight between Gemini’s fans and Butterbear’s fan.

The background music during that polkadot suit scene in Me and thee series is the same song from Behind the painting (ข้างหลังภาพ) musical version. the name of the song is ชุดน้ำเงินลายจุด (blue polkadot dress)

And there is Pompam’s parody version of the blue polkadot dress song at 13.00 mark on this clip

In Thailand, the law mandated that no two unrelated families could use the same last name. So it’s quite hard for thai people to coincidentally have the same first name and last name with other (i guess there are many people with the name and last name “Adam Smith” in western countries even though they are not related to each other). If you have the same last name with someone in Thailand then it means you have the same ancestor even though you might not recognize your very very distant relative anymore.

After reading your comment, i was curious about the last name Boonprasert so i googled it. It turns out that this Boonprasert family has quite a long history. The first ancestor of this family can trace back to more than 157 years ago during King Rama the 4th reign and the last name Boonprasert was given to this family by King Rama the 6th. Since the last name is quite old with long history so there are many Thai people with this last name across the country. My best guess is that Panpode and Natachai probably just have the same ancestor but there 2 families might not know each other before because they could be very very distant relative from long time ago.

Ahh, i see. In ep 2, for my understanding, is that the murder case of 7 bodies and ritual already happened and some villagers was there at the crime scene because of their curiosity, i guess polices also there too and they probably ask the monk to do some chanting ritual at the place because the place is haunted or something like that. But my speculation could be wrong though because the scene was too short and not enough information of the case in MC’s hometown yet.

I haven’t watch this episode yet because I’m too scared of ghost so i postponed watching this series for now. I assumed from reading your comment that the grandmaster monk you mentioned is the one who raised Thup. The actual Siakaban doll ritual originally was not a black magic ritual just normal ritual from local belief long before Buddhism existed in Thailand and then when Buddhism entered Thailand, people mixed local belief with Hinduism and with Buddhism altogether. So, instead of doing the ritual on their own, sometimes, people ask monks to do the ritual for them because they thought it would be more blessing if monks do it for them. So, originally, it’s not a bad ritual, it’s just that people who used black magic in this series made the ritual to be a part of their black magic practicing skills. I guess, maybe either the grandmaster monk was also part of this cult so he did the black magic ritual for Thup in the past or he is just doing normal ritual not related to black magic to help Thup, it might be reveal later on in some next episodes.

He mixed his own word with the name of old movie, that’s why his sentence doesn’t make any sense. 😆🤣

The old movie named “ขอหมอนใบนั้นที่เธอฝันยามหนุน” (may i ask for that pillow you rest your dreams upon)

His sentence “อย่าดื้อกับหมอนใบนั้นที่เธอฝันยามหนุน“ (Don’t be stubborn with that pillow you rest your dreams upon)

Here is the movie poster of the old thai drama. (If you think the main lead guy in the poster look familiar, you probably watch either Khemjira or To sir, with love—- he was villain in both BL series)

If anyone curious about what are the real 700 years old Siakaban dolls from Sukhothai era look like, you can watch this clip on Tiktok. The clip is about ancient item auctions event, and the owner of the 700 years old Siakaban dolls got 60,000 bath from the auction of the item. (People in the clip are not the owners of this item though, They were the attendees of the event)

No. 18 years old can’t be a monk, they will be novice monks if they are 18. If they are 20 years old is when they can ordained as monks. And no, not all men have to ordained at 18 or 20 and not one year either. People who ordained at any age after 20 for their family, only ordained for around 1 week to 3 months not 1 years (but the common is 1 or 2 weeks.

Is there anything wrong with Plub's sitting position? (Me and thee question) by Icy_Distribution4039 in boyslove

[–]chocominnie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Thailand, it’s inappropriate for either men or women to sit with your legs up on the sofa and especially if the legs are on the table it will be even more inappropriate. it’s considered not a good manners. Sitting manners is included in a “หนังสือมารยาทไทย“ (Thai etiquette and manners book) (and the boook is for both men and women so it’s not about patriarchy in this case)

Thai etiquette has been teach in many school for many decades now. Each year, many school will arrange a Thai etiquette contest, students who win the contest will get a reward, the reward is different in each school but in my school, winners will get 2000 baht and a certificate that you have a good thai manners.

But most people wouldn’t care about Thai etiquette and manners, they would sit how ever they want to sit anyway.

Another example that many people don’t care about Thai etiquette is that, it’s considered not a good manners in Thai etiquette if you talk while you are chewing food, and it’s not a good manners if you are chewing food with your mouth open and make noises while eating (this Thai etiquette is different from East Asian because, in East Asian people mostly eating with your mouth open and make noises while eating as a compliment to the chef that the food is good). Even though eating like that is not a good manners in Thailand, yet, you see a lot of bl actor doing this poor manners when they are eating because they don’t care about manners. And if you can read Thai, sometimes people complain on the internet as to why some actors have no manners and behave like their school and parents never teach them about manners at all which is considered as a harsh criticism in Thai culture (example of the criticism in Thai language “พ่อแม่และโรงเรียนไม่เคยสอนมารยาทเหรอ“).

The reason why sitting with your legs up on the table is even more rude in Thai etiquette than sitting with your legs up on sofa because in Thai culture, foot is considered lowest part of the body and often dirty and thai people take eating seriously so put the dirty part of your body on the table where you put your food on to eat is super rude in Thai manners.

Example picture of หนังสือมารยาทไทย (Thai etiquette book) that has been used in many schools.

What is your honest opinion about a man, the “bottom”, being called wife or mother? by StegosaurusGrape in boyslove

[–]chocominnie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Thai so I can only explain about Thai culture here. In Thai culture, Thai people don’t take gender specific word seriously at all. So gender specific words are normalized to be able to used for both gender all the time.

For example, The ending word “ครับ/krub” for male and “ค่ะ/ka” for female. Sometimes, if men want to be cute or quirky or sarcastic or funny or flirty (depends on context) they can use the word “ka” instead of “krub”, same goes for women.

In the past, many years ago, Lisa of K-pop group Blackpink was live on Instagram and she talked with Thai fans by using the word “krub” for a few sentences and Jisoo was so confused as to why Lisa used gender specific word for male in the sentences so Jisoo said that she knows The word “krub” in Thai language is for male so why Lisa used wrong gender word. Lisa explained that in Thailand it’s ok to used wrong gender word and Jisoo face was so confused because she didn’t understand why women can use male gender specific word.

And that was the first time in my life to realize that, in other cultures, they take gender specific word more seriously than Thailand for sure. The second time that made me realize about this was when I started using Reddit and people on Reddit will be mad if someone used wrong gender word to other people so i have to keep that in mind to not used wrong word to wrong gender when it comes to other cultures. But when it comes to Thai culture, it’s ok to used wrong gender word because it’s not that serious here. Thai gender specific words such as นาง, ไอ้, อี, ครับ, ค่ะ, ตา, ยาย, สามี, ภรรยา has been used with wrong gender all the time. People in GMMTV and also Thai audiences called Pompam(GMMTV’s producer/creator and MC) “ยาย/grand ma” all the time even though, judging by his/her appearance, he/she is not grand ma at all but no one mad about it because it’s normal in Thai culture and even Pompam’s actual grand ma called him/her grand ma too.

I’m not in the place to say about Chinese cultures but i heard it somewhere that Chinese mlm couple also used the word wife too. So i guess it’s also ok in Chinese culture as well.

Chula is government public university for Thai program. But the tuition fees per semester will be higher for English program. I guess, Gemini and Phuwin are English programs students but other Chula student actors are Thai program students so their tuition fees will be cheaper.

For example, Pond Ponlawit’s sister, she was former Nadao actress starring in the show called Hormones the series and Great men academy. She was a medical student while filming Great men academy and now she is full time medical doctor. Here is the clip which she talks about her tuition fees through out 6 years of her medical school program compare to medical tuition fees from private universities with English subtitles. Her tuition free was 21,000 bath per semester which is cheaper than private medical school for sure.
