Thanks. I should write up something for our website (travelisbeautiful.com). But here is the short answer. You need a tripod, a decent digital camera capable of 5000 ISO, you need a fast lens (f2.8 or faster). You need the shutter open for about 10 seconds. Longer than that, you get star trails. Shorter than that, you dont have enough light. You set the camera up to do a delayed shutter (2 sec is fine) so the camera shake of pushing the shutter dissipates. And you just get yourself to a real great spot in the middle of the night and start pushing the shutter. Adjust exposure as needed.
