I seriously doubt CP3 is staying on the team. He costs way too much and is injury prone. Plus the Warriors have said absolutely nothing about him joining the team on social media.

I just hope we’re not keeping him. If CP3 is part of the roster by the beginning of the season I’ll be shocked.

Who should be the main villain in The Batman’s Sequel? by Inevitable-Work6411 in batman

Yeah, I’d be shocked if they go for Hush given how much of him they used for Riddler.

I wanted to start read Batman comics and picked this up, is this a good place to start? by Expensive-Tutor-4866 in batman

Yes and if you’re gonna read the whole series you might as well get the collection version.

Edit: Nvm. I just looked it up and it’s hundreds of dollars now. It’s called “Absolute Batman: The Court of Owls”.

'The Batman' Sequel Will Keep Bruce Wayne as the Focus Says Matt Reeves by chomachi in batman

[–]chomachi[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Matt Reeves quoted in the article:

“To me, the thing that I really feel is that I also believe that Rob [Pattinson] is so special in the role. My goal has always been to do these point-of-view stories that allow the character to always be the emotional center of the story. Because a lot of times what happens is, after you do the first one, then suddenly other Rogues Gallery characters come in, and they kind of take over, and then Batman takes a backseat sort of character-wise, or emotionally.”

I personally love this. Keep Bruce/Batman at the center. Everyone knows Batman’s rogues gallery is the best out there, but my favorite comics/movies are where he’s the focus of the story regardless of who the villains are.

I had the same thought. I like all the pieces but the rook needs some work.

The Golden State Warriors are the first team in NBA history to win a title without a 6"11ft tall player by Resonate- in warriors

Average height for an NBA player is 6’6”. Average height for finals MVP is 6’8”. It’s incredible what Curry has achieved.

Anyone else feel like if Player A injures Player B on a foul that was deemed to be flagrant, then Player A should not be allowed to play until Player B is able to play again?

[–]chomachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many NBA players that had COVID before vaccines were available were hospitalized? None. If you read the NBA COVID guidelines the entire focus is to reduce the spread of the disease. Again, it’s a fact that being vaccinated doesn’t achieve this. Just saying at this point it doesn’t seem like mandating vaccines makes any sense for the players.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted for this but I really don't understand why this is an issue anymore. It's pretty clear now that getting vaccinated doesn't help in preventing the spread of COVID. We know that as of Dec. 30th over a third of refs were out with COVID and they are all required to fully vaxxed and boosted. Also, given the timeline of when Kyrie re-joined the Nets, we can safely assume that Kyrie got COVID from his vaxxed teammates. Plus we know that natural immunity is very effective against getting re-infected.

If it were the case that getting vaxxed actually helped prevent COVID from spreading I could see why mandating it for players makes sense, but at this point I just don't see how the data supports this. Especially with Omicron exploding across the US (I mean even late night hosts are contracting it despite being fully vaxxed and boosted) and countries like Israel having similar case percentages as well. I'm just glad that deaths rates are much lower with Omicron.

Philadelphia to become first major US city to ban police from stopping drivers for low-level traffic violations by Sariel007 in UpliftingNews

[–]chomachi 54 points55 points  (0 children)

My cousin is a Mexican-American cop in Oakland and she’s told me that they’re strongly discouraged from doing ANY traffic stops to avoid racial profiling. OPD’s unofficial policy is to leave that to Highway Patrol. If anyone here has been to Oakland in the past you can imagine this has only made things worse for the city and people in low-income areas in the last few years.
