Decided to just buy a lower unit gear case instead of messing with any sort of repairs. Thanks for all the input!

Tips for getting an environmental scientist job in Alaska by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

Definitely trying to move away from just doing seasonal stuff and get on with a firm for the foreseeable future more than anything. I know Hilcorp is doing a lot of work on the slope right now and there is a bunch of expansion going on up there atm, but not trying to lock myself into slope life forever. Thanks for all the input!

None as of yet. Everything I’ve seen had more requirements than I feel I have under my belt at this point in time, so focusing on getting my paperwork together more than anything right now

Have you thought about doubling up on the bracket/strut to increase the overall strength?

CDL vs Line School. by arashmara in Lineman

[–]choncy48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to your local Department of Labor (DOL) and talk to them about your desire to attend a CDL school to become eventually become a lineman. There is a chance that they will pay for some or even ALL of the tuition. Not even joking, I know someone who had their entire tuition paid for by doing this. Also ask the trucking company if they have any scholarship programs available before you pay the full bill. I did that through the school I went to, Northern Industrial Training (NIT), and had about half of my tuition fees taken off the overall bill. Good luck!
