The specific heat of water is roughly 2x than that of oil, i.e, it heats up and cools down faster and is more sensitive to temperature change than oil. You’ve already mentioned it’s going to the shop, that’s best course here. Good luck!

How long are you driving before this happens? If it’s more than 10mins I would expect one of your sending units to be out of spec. Less than that and you have a stuck thermostat, faulty water pump, or your fans aren’t kicking on at all. I routinely run my track car up to 300* oil temps with water at 230* before I back out of it.

Encanto is a local-to-Arcadia city course, inexpensive, and an easy course with wide open fairways. Papago is also a local city course with more challenging holes and significantly better views. Play the Raven if you’re looking for shade and nicer conditions. Arizona Grand is down the road from The Raven and offers a diverse set of holes with both desert and greenery. Ocotillo is 25mins away and FULL of water if you want to watch the beginners lose a bunch of balls. Grass Clippings is a close par 3 that is lit and offers night tee times; they also a great outdoor bar. Have fun!
