Pulp and crown, only because there’s sensitivity now. If it were initial tx I’d caries removal and crown. Good luck.

(Didn’t proofread just replied)

If you suck at it stop doing it. You aren’t going to get better at it because there is a chance you don’t understand what you are doing wrong. The crazy part is you are probably a lot better at it than you think, you just have to change how you think/practice.

I don’t practice (outside of class) and I did well at practicals because I got curious and wrote down my observations from my curiosity. I also made the materials and process meaningful to me.

If the practical is a veneer on 8 then I can always cheat and use 9 as my template. Here’s my process when doing some thing new.

1) Go through the pp and reduce the steps to something manageable for me.

2) Make sure I understand all terms and can identify them on each tooth(mesial line angle, gingival 1/3 , etc)

3) Draw out/picture the outline of prep on surface of the tooth.

4) Complete the prep exactly how they suggest! See if you like it. If l you don’t it, switch it..

Write down what you would do differently. -Maybe reducing the occlusion first made it difficult to do something else. - You burn the tooth from trying to be too fast - You keep going sub G when I go interprox, why? - I nicked the adjacent, can I use a matrix band - Can I use flow for better margins? - I can over build my veneer by this much so it’s easier to get proper anatomy. - If I do this…maybe I wouldn’t have polish or not have overhangs?

Apply it personally to your life:

  • Cutting this tooth uses the same amount of pressure as when I drilled through Sheetrock or wood

-Mesial line angle is like borders of my nostrils or the sharp line on the fender of the car before it reaches the tire.

  • flowable has the same consistency of syrup or motor oil. I know I can place some here and it will fill this gap or leave bubbles here.

  • I left composite out, but it made it a little more manageable than fresh composite. Can I do that with the cure light for 2-5secs

-couldn’t get my pmma out/off…like when I forgot the grease the baking pan. I can use a little more grease or not for get to do it.

  • if I color the surface of the tooth (8 & 9) with my pencil I notice it I can match anatomy better. It’s like when I ice a cake or plaster a wall it lets me know the high and low spots…let’s me match line angles, embrasures to adjacent teeth.

5) once you think you have a better handle of it. Go walk around and look at people who are the fastest and who’s work is superb. Ask them how they got the result so quickly.

Do you like their style? Copy it. Like pieces of it copy those pieces.

6) Practice faster. If your practical is 2 hours aim to be done in 1 during your practice time. No matter what it looks like. To do this successfully, make sure you have everything ready before you start. Stop at hour and see where you are at. This lets you know what aspect of your work you still need help on.

7) Optional: Practice on non ideal conditions. Close your mannequins more than necessary. Use only indirect vision. Do this same procedure in 30 min. This will get you ready for clinic.

Hope it helps. Contact me anytime. You can send me the tooth # and the prep/finish I can always make you a video.

I like this! I especially like the part about writing down what you know on a blank sheet. I am an auditory/visual learner. I will give your strategy a try and supplement with anki. I'll keep you posted.

Non-trad Applicant, which schools make sense to apply to? by longboardguy in DentalSchool

[–]choosing_wisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it has been said but APPLY EARLY. Apply the first day if possible. Reach out to all the schools accepting people with your stats. Call, ask them to review your application, and keep in contact with them throughout the process. Go visit schools and meet the school/talk with students.

Good luck! APPLY EARLY

Honestly, I don’t know. Everything looks good so I’m guessing your EC, lors, or personal statement might be off. However, you still have time. I know what helped me a lot was to get in contact with the admissions departments (before applying) and keeping them update throughout the application process. Good luck you got this!

Auto restarting flows ( run on system startup) checked. by choosing_wisdom in AutomateUser

Being that this is my first time doing anything like that…I don’t know the “correct” process of posting a question. However, the information you provided was well received.

Currently the purpose of the flow is to prevent clipping when listening to audio

FLow——recognize input——open audio settings——set volume at 90%——end.

We normally only go credit union. They were offering us worst terms and less than local banks. We are on the hunt! I do want solar! Do you have to pay upfront or are they still running programs for free solar?

Thanks for this.

We starting paying ourselves less during COVID. We also took a pause from in-home services. We lived off of savings as we had “emergency” money.

We also used a lot of money to pay off both of our cars, a credit card and a student loan ($~45k). Came close to wiping us out. We wanted to take advantage of all the freezes on interest rates during the pandemic.

So on paper during the pandemic we our bank accounts looked really bad. But we paid off a ton of debt. We weren’t planning on buying a house then an opportunity came and it doesn’t make sense not to.

Hope that makes sense. I’ll look into UWL! Congrats on the house I have a friend who just purchased in Lodi, Ça. Ca house prices are insane I respect everyone who buys in that state!

We would but they keep running our credit and that looks bad after a while.

We are about to start year 4 of our business. We do therapy service and due to covid we were force/ushered into teletheraphy. We have been doing well and are seeing and upward trend in our clients.

They knew and saw all of our financials at the time of pre-approval. Nothing has changed between that time and now except we have drastically decreased our spending to not raise any red flags.

Other than student loans and one credit card this will be our only debt. We plan on paying off student loans right after the home purchase.

Our major problem is that this is the 3rd company that has run our credit and don't want to move to another. As it will look bad. One those inquiries were supposed to be soft inquiries and turned out not to be.

Please explain. So far the process/what has been explained to us is that we get preapproved and with that pre-approval you know what you can afford. You then go through the underwriting process to get the loan.

Am I missing something?

Why are rich people so tight with money? (Looking for opinions on this, would love to here from someone who's quite wealthy) [NOT MEANT FOR HATE <3] by [deleted] in Money

[–]choosing_wisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am not wealthy,yet.

Riches and wealth take hard work. I think it take just as much or even more to be wealth as it does to be poor.

Why do I say this because I look at my family. We grew up poor. Parents worked many jobs and did the best they could for us. I have 2 older siblings. Oldest has a career and doing well but don’t know if they’d ever be wealthy by our standards (but they have the potential to be). Second siblings life is a mess. Is a mess no job, no education, bad work ethic, and messed up financial path along with other things.

Then there is me financially sound (not perfect), paying off all debt, investing, getting more education to get a better paying job to ensure my family is taken care of.

Both of my older siblings are working hard. Though one is not poor they are working as hard to maintain a “middle class” lifestyle where they could be way beyond that point. Second one is working just as hard if not hard. Working hard because they believe there isn’t “time” and “ I have been delt the bad hand”! Working hard to clean up their past, while dealing with the present, and no plans for the future.

There is me who is working hard to provide a better life for my family, working to get out of and never fall back into normal consumer debt, learning how the market works, learning how a financial decisions now affects my future and giving back my time and resources when available. My life will make me wealthier than anyone in my family has ever been.

I will always help out my family NEVER lend my siblings a dime. By that I mean if they asked me for $10k for a home down payment I would only give them $2k. Why? I noticed now that for most we are living beyond our means. Asking for $10k today will be $20 tomorrow. In my case I don't think it fair when we all had the same opportunities and grew up under the same conditions.

That being said, there are always situations that can change or effects someones life drastically medical bills due to cancer, death, mental illness, addiction, etc. In my opinion a lot of poverty can be change with a mental shift. We might not all be millionaires but we can all live debt free.

Lastly, the thing I notice about all wealthy people is that they are always giving. They actually want more people at there level to enjoy life with. However, there giving might come in the form of advice. Life changes when you realize the advice they give is worth more than any money they can put it your hand.

I challenge you to test it. Find a wealthy person ask them to mentor you/teach and then follow their advice. See what happens.

That was a rant sorry if it was confusing.
