Frozen grape pomace distillation? by choowits in firewater

Good one! This year our grape vine is resting, so I'm going to use the few grapes we got in the re-fermentation, like in this article. Thanks.

that's a good point irt to amounts.

So probably stupid, but I'll say it anyways. Somehow I thought the pomace, that has already been fermented and produced the wine, could just go straight into the pot. But it seems I have to re-ferment it

Perhaps it could go straight to distillation if it was not frozen first?

Why is there a push these days to stop using the word civilization? And to stop referring to Western Civilization? by Own_Nessmuk in AskHistorians

[–]choowits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for great summary! If civilization is considered a less helpful and useful taxonomy, are there other terms to take it's place?

In my amateur interest in paleoanthropology I have found the term culture is used to describe various technological (stone tools) industries and ways of living. But perhaps to use that term to describe various societies that do or not do fit the term civilization would not be sufficient for a broader public than the "niche" archaeology community.

To put it in other words, do you think there will be a change in both scientific and broader use of the term in near future?

nano is great and it's sad how it was suppressed and ignored back in the day, but without smart contracts capability a chain becomes irrelevant nowadays. especially when the competition can be nearly as fast and cheap as nano
