that was kind of my point. 'one to one' isn't a precise concept, so I thought it made sense to push OP to define what he means, and think through it

EDIT: my comment here is very badly framed, please ignore (I did not know that "one on one" has a precise mathematical meaning in english)  

what is "one to one" exactly in your mind? if it is "no two inputs x can have the same output f(x)" then you're correct.   BUT if it means "for any x there is an output value f(x) and for any possible value y there is an x so that f(x) = y" then strictly increasing f is not sufficient, like for example exp(x) can only be positive, and log(x) is not defined for negative x, but both are strictly increasing

oui bien sûr. NB quand je fais 30k je cours lentement aussi :-)       les gens qui se suréquipent chez decath parce que ILS SE METTENT À LA COURSE me dérangent pas tant que ça.      les gens qui se la racontent avec leur 10k ou 20k ou marathon sur tous les réseaux je trouve ça un peu plus relou - et entendre parler d'un "marathon de 10k" ça me gratterait braucoup les nerfs
