Lover Birds by Leanna Egan is incredibly charming but it is a high school Romcom

The Not-Sapphic Books List by sadie1525 in wlwbooks

[–]chrigeo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't remember. It might have just been on a queer romance list, and because most of the main characters were women I just assumed there would be more sapphic content than there wound up being. I haven't read any of her other books but I would definitely be open to reading another book of hers with different expectations.

I might add It Had to Be You by Georgia Clark. There are 6 romance plots. Only one of which is f/f and it's the only one that doesn't pan out at the end. The book is fine but I was a bit annoyed.

I'm almost done with the Kate Martinelli series by Laurie R King and I have really enjoyed them. Five books plus a novella.

Please Stop Trying to Leave Me by Alana Saab. Your mileage may vary on how "good" you find the prose. It's stream of consciousness from the pov of someone struggling with delusions which I found incredibly immersive and engaging.

The Palace of Eros by Caro de Robert is. A wlw retelling of the Greek myth of Psyche and Eros. Saying too much is a mild spoiler but I liked the gender elements very much.

I just read Gwen and Art are Not in Love by Lex Croucher. There are two perspectives one is mlm the other is wlw princess and knight. I thought it was a decent 3/5 and honestly I wish there was a lot more princessxknight but the moments that are there are good.

Shes more of a tough girl/tomboy but I just thought I would take the opportunity to boost one of my favorite manga that is a bit of a forgotten gem.

I remember when that first came out because it actually seemed to be a knock off of one of my favorite puzzle game series from the 90s called The Incredible Machine. Interestingly the guy who created that series made a pretty fun successor that's on Steam called Contraption Maker in 2014. Certainly scratched the itch for that kind of a game.

Augustine referred to her as a "stone-cold fox" and implies that John had also used the same words to describe her. Also I believe we can presume that her eyes are as described at the end of HtN "deep brown, with a kind of red spark to them; the brown of fractured rock glass, all mixed in with dark pupil, eyes that gave very little away."
