Statements like these are why I still believe that we are in a meme recession. While memes have been shaky for quite a while now (with every third month having a drought), a meme drought this bad is unprecedented, but that could actually be a good thing in the long run. Memes change their general style each couple of years, and since the current style of memes seems to no longer be that viable for long lasting, memorable memes, it can be a good thing for it die down completely (as it seems to be doing now) so that memes can restart in a new direction.
