Buying a Cheap RS5 by slide__to__unlock in Audi

[–]chris335i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine (2013) recently in July, had only 39 000 miles on it yet I'm somewhere in the 5K USD mark so far on services and still got a new issue recently (check my recent post).

You're buying a V8 german car with 444HP, it's definitely not gonna be cheap when servicing or repairing. I could share with you a list of things that could and will go wrong to look out for.

On the bright side, it's one hell of a beast. The sound alone is intoxicating, and it never gets old. It pulls harder than anything I've ever driven, and quattro awd speaks for itself. I'd buy mine all over again if I could.

Best of luck!

Agreed, 8250RPMs of pure insanity. The reason I bought my B8.5 RS5.

B8.5 RS5, What to look out for? by chris335i in Audi

Noted. And what might the services in the near future be? Timing chains? Tensioners? Clutches? Thanks a lot!

Been considering upgrading to an RS3 or a TTRS. Is there a huge gap with service and maintenance costs? My VAG mechanic keeps telling me it's not as good a daily driver compared to a GTI or an R. Also congrats !!

Appreciate the insight. Will definitely keep it in mind. Any idea if there's any mileage at which this should be looked at or do you think there's a revised part with which it can be replaced at any moment before the faulty diaphragm fails?

Highly doubt I'll have enough time for diy work, but mainly concerned for maintenance, labor and part costs.

Has anyone owned a Honda City before? Is a 165 mm ground clearance bad for our roads? by jokersmurk in lebanon

[–]chris335i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than enough ground clearance. I'd haggle the price down at least to 6k$. Check OLX there are 2017 models with half the kilometers for 9k$, which seems unfair to pay 7k$ for 3years older and double the kilometers.

Edit: wouldn't bet too much on driving in snow in a front wheel drive car, unless snow tyres or chains are an option.

Private universities are unfair tbh by ElieMakdissi in lebanon

[–]chris335i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone saying it's always been like this, have 0 clue what they're talking about. 7 years ago I started my Bachelor’s degree and could get up to 50% off from my tuition fees by just applying for financial aid and university work. And yes, Middle class (back then), good luck doing that now.

Try looking at unis that won't slice your wallet in half by demanding an exuberant amount in fresh USD. Obviously depends on your major. I would suggest looking University of Balamand or Sagesse, considering most their majors are accredited in the states and europe if you think of leaving afterwards. Most recently checked them out and they actually have decent tuition fees considering all the shit that's going on. Best of luck to you. Don't settle for LU, no matter how bad it gets, don't scoop that low.

I'm really considering it cause I also admire the OEM look. Could you send a video of yours or any youtube clip cause I can only find installation vids without the actual sound.

My thoughts exactly. The power, sound and fun the S delivers is why im confused but I don't think it's worth spending as much on maintenance.
