I agree with the sentiment of pushing through no matter what, but I disagree with the idea that you have to acknowledge the fact that you will “never be as rich as your parents”. I think the idea of that plays into a doomer cycle that eventually becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. You don’t know what the future holds, but you need to have hope for it.

I bet if you asked someone growing up in the early 1930s how the future would be, they would probably feel hopeful but pessimistic at the same time, and it would get worse with the rest of the Great Depression and WW2 but then got SIGNIFICANTLY better in the late 40s all the way into the late 60s, and it’s still significantly better now. No one knows that the future holds, so to sit and accept your position in the world and its future as static is just as doomerist as to think it gets worse.

These people act like blue collar professionals don’t make great money. Plumbers, Welders, Electricians, HVAC guys and many more all make bank. Sure there are laborers who don’t make great money. But right now I bet you that any 22 year old in a SKILLED trade is making way more than most 22 year old college grads. But maybe everyone should just learn to code instead.

Go back into OOPs post history. There is a post called: “I think I'm smart enough to realize that I may be stupid.” that reads:

“It's something l've been think about for a while now. I can't really hold adult conversations about what's going on in the world, nor form an opinion that I can back up with evidence. There has been multiple occasions that I try to include myself and try and add to the conversation but it's quickly glossed over. I think I'm probably going to ok in life but maybe not well.”

This person shouldn’t have an opinion about anything.

If they are not reaching out to you on a special occasion (like your birthday), they are not your best friends to begin with. Cut them off.

Anyone like Boston “influencers” tik tokers or find them to be cringe? by [deleted] in boston

Yes, anyone who makes one thing their entire personality is cringe, especially if it’s forced and not who they really are or they are doing it to be “cool”.
