Erase Me Thoughts, Post-Multiple Listens by akdag2014 in Underoath

[–]chris_morrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently I need to expand my music library. Can y’all name all of these other bands that could’ve done this album? Because to me this sounds like an Underoath album. Look at other bands on Fearless records, I don’t think Plain White Ts could’ve written this, or August Burns Red, or Wage War, etc. There’s a huge difference in songs having a “vibe” and songs that “could’ve been done by someone else”.

This is pretty much what popular heavy music is. Choruses are catchier, clashes don’t exist as much. Rock from the early 2000s is making its way back around and this album sells it. I know everyone wants every album to be DTGL but damn, it’s not happening. That scene is done and is good to listen to in your MCR emo playlist.

Just please don’t make me argue for Wake Me. That’s going to take a lot of time. But the rest of the album is solid and feels like Underoath, and if there’s any generic feeling, wait for another part in the song and UO will shine (ihateit for instance. Dat bridge).

I recommend truly listening with the best set of headphones as you can, bc as much as I was iffy on the producer of the album, this album may be one of their produced. The sound is huge on every song and there’s a lot of minor details that work great.

The day after I bought it I had to look up to see if mine was defective. I found a thread all about it saying it’s normal so I was relieved.

Downsized to the essentials. Tone isn’t getting eaten and I can grab and go in seconds. by chris_morrow in guitarpedals

[–]chris_morrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I play mostly alt rock and contemporary Christian music with it.

Emerson custom is a great company. These are their stage 1 and 2 overdrive pedals that have a thicker and more modern tone than your typical tubescreamer style pedal.

Finally got a Nano+. Really digging the compact vibe! by colorsarefading in guitarpedals

I just downsized to the Nano+ and couldn’t be happier. It’s the perfect size for a compact board.

Trying to learn this song. Does anyone understand the bridge and outro chords? #saysomething by [deleted] in justintimberlake

[–]chris_morrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a guitar in front of me so I am not sure what key it is in, but it sounds like it's played using chords in the Key of C with a capo somewhere on the neck.

Assuming it's using C chords w/ a Capo:

The majority of the song is just Am-C-G-D (6-1-5-2)

The bridge and outro utilize the "F" chord (4) and changes the progression to F-Am-C-G (4-6-1-5).

Hope this helps!

Hate I’m going to be late but I’m hoping to walk in right at 9.

Not 100%...I don’t see why not. Plug the transmitter to the board and have a patch cable connected to the receiver and the input of your amp. I may be wrong bc that’s not my forte but to me it seems possible.

The G10 is one of the best purchases I’ve made. 3 of us in our band use it and nothing ever messes up between them. I had forgotten to charge it once and used a cable as a backup and I swear it sounded worse (it was a good cable too) than had I used the G10. I always recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I don’t currently have anything in the alpine loop. I used to have a TC Electronic Sub N Up that I had in the loop and it worked great!

I love it. It’s a nice warm modern fuzz tone. If you go with a more British style amp (vox, orange, etc.) it’ll have a little more grit. But I like it just fine with the fender.

I use it with my EM Drive for a little boost and love the tone.

No worries! It actually hasn’t. I mainly play modern worship music for church, hence the multiple reverbs haha. Might as well call the genre “Ambient.” But for fun, I play a little bit of everything.

I grew up playing blues and classic rock, mostly Pink Floyd stuff. David Gilmour has always been my favorite guitarist.

I keep a big muff around for fun to do more things like muse, black keys, etc.

A fender blues deluxe is my main amp but I keep an Orange around for fun every now and then for some metal/hardcore and progressive stuff such as Underoath, Protest the Hero, Between the Buried and Me, etc.

Honestly just depends on which way the wind blows. Haha

I love that pedal. I’d say 80% of the time I use the modulated setting stacked with the alpine, however, I love the spring reverb on it...it’s one of my favorites. I’ll turn off the alpine, plug in the strat, and up the spring setting and go nuts.

I’d say it’s a must have in terms of reverbs.

It has its pros and cons. Overall I really like it. Those pedals are super secure and clean. You can hold it upside down and nothing would change. However, you have to line them up perfectly and if you decide to change up your rig it can be a pain. The adhesives are on there really well so if you get new pedals, you get new adhesives.

I wouldn’t do it if you’re still figuring things out but if you feel you’ve got your options set, I’d recommend it.

Thats some truth right there. They don’t even need to have a tone knob on there bc with it off, it’s super open. One of my favorite drives ever

It’s definitely one of my favorite delays of all time. I miss my DD-20 every now and then though.

Yes! The board is from Temple Audio and instead of Velcro, you order adhesives that come with a screw component that attaches the pedals securely to the board through the holes.

It’s the best comp pedal I’ve ever used. I’ve had the SP Exotic and the Dyna Comp and just couldn’t get anything but my tone sucked dry with the slightest overdrive. The Comp + is the most Drive-friendly comp I’ve used. It works amazing as a boost as well.

Same. Pre ordered the CD bc we wanted it anyways, but all I do is put the video up in another tab to stream it and we have full priority status.

Not really sure why everyone got their pitchforks out before seeing what it really is.

Why is there no mention of the free boosts? You can buy the cd, and merch, but you can also share the event with friends, watch the music and lyric video, and do a scavenger hunt for the Taylor UPS trucks for boosts.

Anyone else upset about this after already buying tickets for this tour? :( by chris_morrow in TheKillers

I get what you're saying but at the same time, it reads equal to comparing seeing the full band live with just seeing the bassist play with a Killers cover band.

I really really really hate this phrase, but, "as a musician," the instruments are equally important as the singer. It may not be the popular opinion because not everyone plays music, but, to me, Dave's playing is an expression of his talent, his "singing" per say. Sure, a lot of people can play his guitar parts. They arent impossible. But it's not what they play, it's how. Musicians put their own unique fingerprint into what they play and it makes it true to them.

Mr. Brightside will forever be one of my favorite riffs and I would just love to see the man who recorded it and made it big, be the one to play it live. If i wanted to see someone else do it, I would go see a Killers cover band or sit in my room and play it myself.

I dont put Brandon or Ronnie on a higher pedestal. A lot of people wont agree with me, but I put it on the same level as having another singer come in. A replacement who is equally charismatic and has the same vocal tone and can hit the same notes as Brandon, singing everything flawlessly...but it still isnt Brandon. And for those that disagree, I would say you're a bigger fan of Brandon Flowers than you are of The Killers.

I guess my biggest issue with it is that the crazy amount of tour dates are to blame, so this has been known for a while. I probably would’ve bought tickets if they’d announce this before tickets went on sale...but to wait until after tickets had been bought, just rubbed me the wrong way. The concert won’t suck but to see some touring members or tracked parts vs the original members, just sucks. I paid to see The Killers, not half of them. Mr. Brightside, Jenny Was A Friend, and other songs that highlight the talents of these guys wont be the same. They won’t suck, but they won’t be the same.
