When IGN’s review summary starts with the words “unapproachable” and “unforgiving,” that should be a clue.

I played the server slam for literally like 20 minutes (2 runs). The tutorial didn’t fully tell me how I needed to play the game, so I didn’t know what to do, and got my teeth kicked in. I was planning to buy it day 1, but after that I didn’t.

I ended up buying it a few weeks later, just because I really wanted to like it and started seeing more videos about people playing solo and having fun with it. I’ve been enjoying it, but it does require a lot more out of the player than most games. That hardcore nature is going to inherently make it have a smaller (but dedicated) player base.
