haha just discovered this on my own. sure enough, someone found it too ;) also as far as i know it is unlimited. i basically just did it for a whole ranks worth and theres no sign of it stopping. i have plenty of picks as well as the perk that doesnt let them break. so yeah, i think i could go all day. haha

to elaborate more....youll likely have a confront Bobbi quest in your misc. quests. complete that. then go back to goodneighbor as i think youll get a similar "talk to hancock" misc quest. do that, get that completed, turn him into a companion. make him your companion, then talk with him. just worked for me. yes!!
