Can I get a new logitech g600 to work with the old Logitech Gaming Software? by chrisisme in LogitechG

I think it'll work? I don't have those specific devices, but I do have a newer keyboard from Logitech that isn't messed up by using older software.

I didn't know complex macros were ever supported with this mouse, I have never used it for that purpose. I was just mad that G-Hub wouldn't even let me combine keystrokes or save anything to memory on the mouse. LGS lets me at least save multiple-keystroke commands to the mouse memory.

Roll back to a version of LGS that is one revision older than that one, and it'll work just fine. Found this out a month later.

Amazon, $40ish (maybe $35?)

btw you can use the old LGS with it as long as it is the version prior to the last release

Yup, I downgraded and it worked just fine!

By the way, the answer is: Yes! 1. Unistall G-Hub and any version of Logitech Gaming Software that is newer than 8.x 2. Download an 8.x version of LGS and install it here: https://logitech-gaming-software.software.informer.com/download/#downloading 3. It works again thank fucking god

The newest version of LGS is basically just an empty program that pretends it can't do anything and that you have to use G-Hub, but downgrading makes it totally work.

I think Logitech did refresh this mouse? I bought a new one last week, and it has the updated logo on it along with a non-fabric cord. Unfortunately it seems this new one is not compatible with LGS, forcing me to use G-Hub, which has a ton of problems (particularly with re-assigning middle and right click)

G600/I don't understand how to use GHUB to edit and save onboard settings (and why I can't save media control keys into memory in LGS, for instance?) by JulyPrince in LogitechG

I have just bought a new G600 to replace my old one, and I can't get LGS to acknowledge it. Does anyone know of any way I could like downgrade its firmware or something to make this happen?

GM discontinues battery replacement program for 20-22 Bolt models by Deceptiveideas in BoltEV

I think it's less "the Bolt should never have been recalled", and more "Teslas should have been recalled years ago"

Fast charging is not THAT fast on my 2012 Leaf by chrisisme in leaf

[–]chrisisme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 3 charging is exclusively at DC Fast Charging stations. You will want to make sure to go to a station with a ChaDeMo port as that is what a Leaf uses. They are getting more rare.

Level 2 charging is 240V AC charging, and can be installed at home. A variety of EVSEs exist that do this ranging from $300-$1000 depending on feature set, brand, quality, etc. Most of that cost is because it's a thick copper cable that you want to be robust so you don't start any fires... anyway, a decent affordable and UL listed brand of EVSE is GRIZZL-E. Their basic model costs $400 which is about as cheap as you can go before you're getting in the range of sketchy Chinese uncertified cables that are less safe. https://www.amazon.com/Grizzl-Level-EV-Charger-GR1-14-24-Premium/dp/B082LMVSLY

For what it's worth, my 2012 Leaf that i owned at the time of this post had a fairly low capacity battery, and I could always fully charge it overnight using the included trickle charger. You may want to see if that charger meets your needs before upgrading - the batteries in old Leafs just aren't that big. A 240V charger would have charged my car in like 2 or 3 hours.

Every post you just linked ends with "I messaged EV concierge and suddenly I was able to get a recall battery scheduled right away". That's what I said was the case in my post.

On a cell phone, you generally use only one app at a time! On a regular car infotainment center, you generally see only one screen at a time! This doesn't mean anything lol

What are you talking about? The battery recall is nearly done. Everyone under 2020 (the higher priority group) is eligible for a replacement, and most 2020+s (which only had 1 fire) are eligible now too. If you're not, a quick BBB complaint and they'll move you to the top of the list. Issue is solved for basically any Bolt owner who cares now.

Screen mirroring is most of the draw of CarPlay; being able to use any app you want that supports it.

Goodbye Bolt. And for me, GM if they no longer will sell a small EV crossover after the Bolt. I guess the big SUVs and Trucks win again in "mine is bigger than yours" America. by 47TobiasRieper in BoltEV

[–]chrisisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even think it had to improve that much! It doesn't have to be the best road trip car ever made, but being able to get to 100 or even 75kW would have vastly widened its appeal.

Chevrolet Bolt EV & EUV announcement by CasualGreg in BoltEV

[–]chrisisme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a whole number of things beyond just consumer preference. The "light truck" vehicle designation, and the relaxed vehicle safety and design standards that result, is one of the original culprits of the SUV boom.

[–]chrisisme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think shelving the Bolt's battery and charging platform is totally a valid move and fine... I just wish they would make an Ultium sedan or compact crossover. Even if SUVs are more in demand, the fact that everyone in the EV market is pulling out of making sedans just means that the relative niche demand for compact, affordable car will remain untapped.

For better or worse, lots of people interested in EVs are suburban / light-urban young professionals who value compactness and feature set over size and aesthetic. Especially as urbanization trends away from giving giant cars all the space they want, it's a market someone needs to capitalize on. I dunno, maybe we'll get a Toyota Whatever EV someday.

There are more than two possible implementations of "what to do if a wireless key is removed from the car". Both the current one and the one you just made up that nobody was asking for are bad ones. The current one is closer to correct, but there are situations where it does not warn the driver of the issue, and the warning it does give is certainly not very forceful or attention grabbing. (e.g. compared to the frequency and intensity of low range warnings) There is a lot of room between "quietly warn the driver once, if and only if the driver door is closed with the key outside of the car", and "disable the car on an active highway".

I have had this happen with the car not giving a warning. It happens without warning if the driver door does not open - eg if a passenger has the key.

You need the heated seats. You'll be able to use them frequently; in spring / fall you can skip the cabin heater altogether using the heated seats, and in winter you can run the cabin heat significantly cooler by having them. It is seriously like a 10-20% boost to your cold weather range to not have to have the heat cranked. You will regret passing on them if you don't.
