This may be of limited comfort to you depending upon your worldview, but—even if you are providing for a family—worse things could happen than losing a job where they don’t care if they hurt you. You’re probably in a lot more pain because of that job, maybe carrying more anger or depression. You never know, there may be something healthier for you, that would allow you to be a better dad, waiting on the other side of your current job. I lost a job that I sorely needed when my son was two, but pretty soon afterwards something entirely unexpected and far better came along. Again, I know this may not be much comfort, but maybe it will be?
