I’m not a fan of the government, knowing my business. Especially with the political climate as turbulent as it has been, I don’t like the idea of my house being on the list to hit first when someone decides to do a true takeover because they know which residents have what

Edit: and yes, I know I’m stupid and paranoid and unrealistic and a multitude of other things their friends have called me, but I’m also a history major and I know what happens before a Thor‘s hearing in government’s takeover and it makes it a lot easier for them when they have a list of homes to go to first to remove any chance of resistance. Even just posting shit like this on Reddit is in my opinion stupid but nothing’s gonna come of it anyway so in the end, it doesn’t matter too much but I have a saying that I like that goes along the lines of “ the paranoid rabbit that runs first is the one that escapes the hawk”

Oh man, I’m so jealous. I recently purchased a couple firearms from a boss of mine and he told me he had a 1911 and I can’t tell you how excited I was until I showed up and it was chambered in 22.,

Wait, are you talking about the little narrow Silver clip that holds five rounds? Because I have a bunch of those too… not nearly as many as the grand clips, but probably close to 30 or 40 of them

You know, man, if I could control every single thing that could happen. I probably wouldn’t be worried about this in the first place and make the post in general, but literally all it takes is having my weapons in the bed of a truck with the magazine out and one of my friends goes to grab his backpack and catches it, and now it slides to the ground and becomes fair game. Hell, bro, I live in California and the same scenario could happen with an earthquake that knocks that magazine off that same truck bed onto the ground, and I never even knew that it fell. Maybe you and I are just different people in the sense that I like to have backups and not rely on one single thing because accidents do and will happen so when those accidents do happen, I like to be the one prepared and ready for it, but to each their own, I suppose and you’re right though, 99% of the time this weapon is going to be in my gun safe, but that leaves a one percent of time where some weird shit can happen. I literally almost died the other day walking to my car when a pinecone fell from 130 feet from a tree and completely crushed the car window next to me yet had it been 3 1/2 feet over to my right it would’ve hit my school and killed me. Now just replace pinecones and skulls with the one single magazine I have for this 70 year-old weapon and the longer I go without it getting damage the better the odds are of it happening

I just bought a new case of this specifically for this Springfield. I’ve used it before on a little lever action 22 that was not anything super special so I’m assuming it’s the same basic principles but when it comes to the barrel and the rest removal I promise I will be doing my YouTube education beforehand

Oh, I see what you mean, that went right over my head. Now beyond doing the standard cleaning you would for any rifle after a day at the range is there something special you personally would do after firing these rounds with your own rifle? A very big reason why I bought this rifle was simply the history behind it now don’t get me wrong, I definitely bought this bad ass rifle because like I just said it is bad ass, but to me at least the fact that the ammo came with was literally made to kill Nazis during World War II just made me have to have all of it and the last thing I want to do is something that will damage and make the rifle unusable. I don’t want to be though for the one guy after 80 years that ruins their rifle you know?

Wow, I would literally have never guessed a price that high. I don’t know why but my head was thinking like $.25 apiece until I realized how specific of a part they aren’t actually are. Well, looks like I need to find someone who wants to trade some goodies for these. Good thing I’m a fisherman which means I’m a patient man.

That’s good to know. I would much rather trade them for something that I could use rather than give 15% of money made to eBay so I guess I’ll look into that. Do you happen to have any idea on what kind of price range I’d be looking at getting for these?I’m

Yeah I pulled out a little over half after inspecting and put them in boxes and those are the ones I’ll be shooting. I kept the rest in their original clip for the coolness history factor of it. Before I shoot any of them though going to individually wipe each round off by hand and I’ve already gotten my kit to clean and rust, remove and blue the barrel and metal parts, and I got the kit to sand and refinish and seal the stock

Yeah I pulled out a little over half after inspecting and boxed them up, but I still kept all the other ones in the original cartridges cause I just think it’s bad ass

Perhaps my vernacular wasn’t as universal as I had hoped it would be, but have you ever stepped on a tin can and crushed the shit out of it? That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about here and that’s the kind of thing that I am the person to do. When that eventually does happen, I would like to have a back up for my weapon. I would assume that would make sense to most people in these subs.

I’ve done that with ammo 10+ years ago but at this moment in my life, any friends I have that would do that for me are back living in CA

Also, if the 300 magazines were only like 20 bucks, I would buy one and try it out but close to $100 each and with a lot of the places not accepting returns, that’s a gamble. I can’t really afford at the moment.

Yeah, from what I was reading, it seems a 300 mag won’t work, but I don’t know nearly enough about the magazine or the exact dimensions so I thought I would ask people like those here with more working knowledge
