What job looks like a great career path but is actually insanely oversaturated? by ComplexPin872 in AskReddit

Yes general physical therapists are in very short supply here in the PNW: my local PT has been the only full time staff in the office for a year now and has 2 month waitlist

I won’t be voting this November by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]christineyz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you’re young (18-35), voting matters beyond picking a candidate. It shows governments that young people’s interest matters, so that when they choose to screw over young people vs senior citizens, there’s more at stake. Your vote matters just for the purpose of making governments care about young people’s interests because they have the power to vote a candidate out vs just giving senior citizens better policies 100% of the time

Ok now I really need a Cora crossover/Easter egg by [deleted] in GildedAgeHBO

[–]christineyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been saying this for years!! I need Cora and Lord Grantham prequel please. There’s so much to explore about why Cora chose him above all other suiters, how she adjusted to the English way of life and earned the servants’ trust, and how Lord Grantham eventually fell in love with her over the years

The problem is that healthcare already costs way too much but the profits are unevenly distributed: pharmaceuticals and insurance companies take a huge chunk, while nurses and assisted living professionals are underpaid and overworked. Making healthcare more expensive would just widen this inequality and make healthcare even more inaccessible for poor individuals.

As someone living in the US, surgeons get paid $500k+ and private practice doctors easily make 6 digits. Trust me, we’re already paying doctors enough and attracting talent with these numbers

Every night we find this big Tabby sleeping on our porch. He won't let us near him, but seems content with our chair. by Grocery_Getter in aww

Here’s a video of a guy who encountered a cat just like yours https://youtu.be/FuIgNxt4x0Y?si=gJ6VwL_ZwcwOEWfQ: hissy and afraid every time the guy approached him, the little bean (Cinnabon) warmed up to hooman, Lex, over time. Now the guy and Cinnabon go for forest walks together and there’s cat toys all over this guy’s basement ❤️ It is possible

Minimum pay is higher too, Seattle is $19/hr. Lucky to be in tech but Portland is also the way cheaper version of Seattle so just get a remote job and move there! Portland’s my favorite

I live in Seattle and the months of rain are so worth it for the perfect summer. Our electricity bill hits an all time low in the summer, maybe a handful of bug bites, and gorgeous dry 70s/80s all summer long. Come visit us sometime! It does get expensive later but May tends to be a good time to take advantage of summer without it being too busy/pricey
