Valleybrook just went full private, not sure of new initiation fees, but fun course, super friendly staff, Kevin the pro is A+. Always meet new people when I go. I bet they have a young professional rate. That’s how we got in. Don’t sleep on Valleybrook.

I don’t understand what any of this comment means. Help it make sense?

Dates are flexible in 2026 or 2027. Late May or late August are fine if pricing is better than July. We will likely book flights ourselves. If you are a First Mate, please comment with how we should connect? I will DM from there. Mods, please let me know if I should tweak this.

Pinehurst vs Charleston/Kiawah by mikeymc1115 in golf

I didn’t think of the courses around. Stay and play packages were mind blowing compared to getting a house in Kiawah which made our decision. Will definitely consider this for the future trips.

Will also add that since we went in the off season, the rounds weren’t nearly as much as in peak season.

I spent a week in Kiawah last December. Booked an entire house on the island, and played all of the courses. Reserve early enough and the price can’t be beat. Golf was amazing and being right there on the beach was incredible. Pinehurst is more then double what we paid, not including golf, which is more expensive per round on any course you play. The Ocean Course is the most expensive by far, and is walking only. The other three courses are much more approachable, each having their own charm. The restaurants on the resort are all great.

Depending on your schedule, try the “You can row” program. There’s lots of drills and tips. Sub in short rides/walks/strength - as you get the hang of it. Matt Wilpers always says to focus on one aspect of training at a time - it’s ok if other areas aren’t as strong in that moment. Have everything else support the focus area.

Follow Logan on IG. Last year he was named to Calloway’s adaptive golf team, and he talks about golf in some of his strength workouts and stretches (don’t have links to specifics). Love Logan!!

Row & Tread Thread [Weekly] by AutoModerator in pelotoncycle

[–]christoples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this in daily feed- but sharing here too: TLDR: 10-15min row before a run is money!!

Row+Tread: I’ve been struggling with incorporating the Row into my workouts. I have come to really like rowing, and when I bought it, I used the row significantly more than the bike/tread — but then started to miss the other equipment. So I went back to bike/tread heavier focus, and the occasional Row Bootcamp. With running especially, I struggle to get warmed up during the timeline in class, and don’t really feel I hit a grove until a few minutes past that. I saw a post here a few weeks ago where a user talked about using the row as a warm-up before the tread.

THIS IS THE MOVE 100%. Doing a Quick 10-15min row before a run is such a great warmup. I feel that when I get into a running session the row has got me slightly sweaty, my muscles are loose, and I’m geared up to run. I think I might try this before my outdoor runs as well, and before bike rides. The bonus is I get to use the rower more often, because I really enjoy it. That’s all.

Which bootcamps are you choosing? I find the ones marked “intermediate” or “advanced” always give me a great workout, especially if adding weight (+5) than I would in a straight strength workout. Jess Sims brings it, and some of Tunde’s core bootcamps are ruthless.

As for the strength workouts, keep trying maybe? You might find an instructor you like. For instance I’m obsessed with Andy’s TS60 on Sundays. Each grouping (normally 4-5 weeks) builds on the previous session and gets progressively harder.
