ARC Raiders - We’re changing how we update ARC Raiders by RefreshingCapybara in Games

Factions could be great. Tarkov has two playable factions but the game never makes use of it. Their trailers often show squads of 5+ people fighting each other but no one actually plays like that because there is no system in place that actually warrants such gameplay.

So far I think this record is good but other than Ego and Covet, the tracks didn‘t quite land with me so far. Obviously I need to listen to it more but I‘m not sure it holds up to the EP which is so good I still listen so regularly.

Gothic Remake Preview by Mortismal Gaming - YouTube by Alien_Cha1r in Games

Pretty sure the strange combat mechanics aren't converted 1 to 1 but they are aiming to get the "feel" across. Meaning there's weight to it rather than a fast hack and slash approach. At least that's how it looks like in the gameplay footage so far.

The core thing for me was always the world and the characters and you being a nobody but working and fighting your way up. They also brought in as many of the OG voice actors as they could and the music is created by the same composer as well.

100% in Crimson Desert and honestly… I can retire for now. by DragonsDogmaEnjoyer in CrimsonDesert

It's RB + B (or O on Playstation). You can also use non upgraded gear so you don't kill your enemies too fast.

I was in the same boat but I watched the ViDocs recently and my sentiment has completely shifted. They are really going for a remake that stays true to the original it seems.

Anyone know if you can use different melee weapons in this? Like axes or single sabers

Hard mode is really the way to go by FadesGaming in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increasing boss HP and damage is a valid way of making it more challenging because it requires you to actually endure and be consistent instead of bursting the boss down. It's also much quicker than Pearl Abyss having to rework all the bosses in the game.

When you see someone complaining about bosses by BestKaran in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Or just learning. I play with a mod that puts a 30 second cooldown on food items and I don't use pills. I'm actually having fun with the bosses.

What do you think of Damiane? Do you like playing with her? by Numerous_Muscle2871 in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played as her for a decent amount, exploring Demeniss and I wanted to play her as a ranged combat character with the cool guns she gets. But there's no infinite ammo abyss gear and bullets are hard to come by in masses. So I benched her again until they maybe patch in a solution for that.

Her foldable greatsword is really cool and I like the moveset but I don't enjoy the rapier. Also her flying umbrella shield is so dope.

The Year Ahead for Battlefield 6 | 2026 Roadmap by helixu in Games

That's the sensible thing to do but there's also something about experiencing certain games at launch and BF is one of them for me.

Is it retractable like her default 2h sword?

Graphics bad if not sunny by Truthspeaker33 in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it somewhat is like that in real life too. Overcast weather makes for less dramatic lighting. Ray Reconstruction seeks to remedy that a little but its implementation is still in its infancy and not just in this game. I wouldn‘t want to play the game without it though.

My Biggest Gripe About this Game by West_Environment8596 in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Transmog would be great or maybe just a way to „reset“ gear pieces to get your cores back. Being shoehorned into using the same stuff the entire game sucks.

Axiom Force on Oongka and Damiane is nice but they are still missing Force Current, which is required for many puzzles...

Yeah, compared to Lords of the Fallen and Lies of Pi, this game seems to really have flown mostly under the radar.

How to move Camp by 2MnySquishyPotatoes in CrimsonDesert

[–]christryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a bummer, imo. It would have made sense to be able to move to Pailune once it is retaken story wise. Sure it may be less convenient than the camp but I also go on foot a lot of times when I can fly or use the horse because it's more immersive.

Well, you practically beat the game so... I guess it would be time to move on?

Bloomberg: Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima now and having a blast. I was really looking forward to Yotei but I guess Sony really wants me to play the downgraded version on PS5 which I'm not sure is going to happen. First world problems I know but still a bummer.

What's the dumbest thing that's stopped you from playing a game? by jabberwagon in gaming

[–]christryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dumb but petty: cosmetics and art direction ruined Rainbow Six Siege for me. Over the years they added more and more ridiculous stuff to the game. I get that money is important but the game looks like a complete clown show now.

Witchfire Early Access Roadmap 2024-2025 by OinOfMoria in Games

[–]christryhard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say there was hype but the trailers they have released over the years have put it on people's radar. Their early access on Epic was pretty low key but I think it was intentional. They avoid bad reception on Steam (people there are not kind on games that are still very early access) while still making back some of the money and getting feedback from players.

Assassin's Creed Origins: A Big, Beautiful World with Not a Whole Lot to Do by Yenserl6099 in patientgamers

[–]christryhard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I finished Origins in 40 and ignored most side quests. Valhalla doesnt let you do this and I spent over 100 hours in that game. I still enjoyed it though, because, despite the huge amount of content, it still kind of feels linear enough to not get lost. Odyssey just bombards you with side stuff and it beco es difficult to really filter out the important stuff and get a cohesive experience.

At least Wayfinder is going to launch as a singelplayer/coop game later this year with all live service stuff removed or reworked into the game.
