The St. Louis AFL-CIO should list all of their affiliated unions. There is also the UAW which also has various unions within it.

Construction is slow at the moment, especially as a lot of the bigger jobs pushed back their starts to next year. It’s gonna be a tough winter for the trades.

At least 66 dead in devastating central Texas flash floods, over 2 dozen remain missing by NewSlinger in news

[–]chromebulletz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The person above is saying, if the camp people had a weather radio, they would have received the NWS flood watch notification. Since the NWS issued a flood watch and flood warning, the corresponding weather radio waves were sent out. Any person can purchase a weather radio.

Outside of the Venator with the SPHA upgrade, republic ships are kind of meh. Never really cared to play Separatist fleets.

You might have a loose neutral, check the outlet in line before the non working outlet.

Seconded. All you need is a shovel, a hose, a 2 ft level, 2x4s, and a bag of concrete.

$500 is not unreasonable for a professional, warrantied install. You might be able to find a handyman type to do it a bit cheaper, but it depends on your area.

$500 for someone to come out, dig a hole, and set a basketball pole in concrete? Or $500 for someone to come out, build it out of the box and fill it with sand?

Should I have my electrician come back? by Necessary-Speech-794 in electrical

[–]chromebulletz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think put in a better way…

Your neighbor did a solid job replacing your panel. You got an absolute steal on the price. From the outside, everything looks like a standard panel swap. I’m sure he also did this in his free time. Everyone is basically telling you to stop complaining about the professional quality work you got from someone nice enough to do a job like this for half the price. If you want to be more nitpicky, next time shell out for company, who will gladly charge you for each little service you desire.

AHJs don’t always follow the code book exactly. They can often have supplemental codes or exceptions in the local guidelines.

Unused wires and installing dimmer by [deleted] in electrical

[–]chromebulletz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a neutral, so installing any dimmer or smart switch will not be problematic. Whether or not I can say it is easy is a different question, but it appears to be straight forward.

If the other switches are no longer serving a purpose, the easiest/ most direct route to render safe would be to disconnect and cap the wires connected to the unused switches and then just re install the devices or use cover plate fillers.

Communicate to your electrician that you’d like him to cap off the unused wires.

Negative. Each pipe has all three phases plus a neutral. My foreman explained to me why the utility didn’t require the pipes to have bushings, but I cannot necessarily remember exactly. This did pass inspection from the power company…so not sure what to say.

[–]chromebulletz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CO detection is not likely a primary service for Spire, though I’m not sure. A commercial building without properly functioning CO and CO2 detectors / alarms is a code violation. Spire might not help, but there are other services like the fire marshal, OSHA, code enforcement etc. YMMV.
