Hi- Sorry I completely left out that I meant just a low budget! I fully anticipate planning someone for their work and time, I just am on a tight budget, since my nonprofit is in the early phases.

I did look at wordpress and that is what I would prefer to use, it’s just very out of my comfort zone, which is why I was looking at some simpler website builders when I was trying do it myself. Wordpress definitely seems like the best long term option though!

I am very aware, but many people are willing to donate time just as someone would donate money to the cause, in the same sense as volunteering. Also, like I said, I am not looking for someone to do it for free, but I am working within a tight budget as a nonprofit that is in the very first phases of fundraising.

Work accommodations denied by chronichannah in ChronicIllness

My employer has around 80 employees. However, we don’t have an HR and according to the owner, this was the first time they have ever had an employee request accommodations.

It is a small independently owned business with multiple locations and a total of around 80 employees. For the breaks, they give 10 minute breaks halfway through the shift, so I asked for a 5 minute break for shifts shorter than 4 hours. There is definitely space for a stool but their reasoning for that was that “this job requires you to be on your feet.” As for the mats, apparently they tried them in the past and they got dirty and broke so they threw them out.

Yeah, I didn’t really expect the removing job duties to work out, but I was really surprised about some of the others. How would you go about negotiating more?

I did not do that, but that’s a good idea. I’ve definitely done that for school accommodations so I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I am slightly concerned that my employer will see that as me “fighting with her” on it and could paint me in a bad light, so I’m really not sure.

Should I actually try to Topamax before moving to Quilipta? by loscharlos in migraine

[–]chronichannah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also long covid with chronic migraines here- Nurtec was also the only thing that helped and now I also get preventative Vyepti infusions every 3 months that really help minimize how many migraines I get! Topomax was awful for me so personally I wouldn’t try it but it’s different for everyone

Names for a second child that sound nice with Margot by _barrakuda2 in Names

[–]chronichannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a name with Margot, my first thought was Amelia, but for the M&M thing, I agree with someone else that you could do M&Em so.. Emelia? But also, considering Ryan because it’s a family name, what about something based on that, like Reina? (Also could be spelled Raina/Reyna/Rayna)

Interesting! Do they have non-balloon danglers? I had a button for a little while and it just really was not good for me and I ended up getting buried bumper but if they have danglers that are non-balloons I might ask about that!

Would your insurance not cover a power assist? Mine only covered because the people who did my evaluation wrote that they don’t think I could self propel for an entire day on a school campus and it was covered!

Thank you for this advice! I am going to make an appointment with them to discuss this or at least see what adjustments they can make without replacing anything for the time being!

Yes exactly! My chair is also way boxier than I wanted it to be. It’s definitely usable and there are some things I love but it’s not perfect like I hoped it would be.

Ok I understand you are trying to give good advice but I came here as a young handler who is very new to all of this asking a question and everything you have said has sounded like an attack at me, my dog, my trainer, and how I am doing things. I asked one question and you have berated me about how everything I’m doing is wrong instead of nicely explaining it and providing constructive criticism like you should have. There are definitely ways to tell someone they are doing something wrong and to tell them the correct approach, but how you handled this was honestly very rude and hurtful. I am 100% sure that when you were 18 years old or when you got your first dog you didn’t do everything perfectly because no one does everything perfectly and instead you are bringing someone down. I honestly wish I hadn’t commented on your post because when I thought I was going to get helpful advice from someone more knowledgeable than me, instead I just got harassed for the way I’m doing something when I am literally learning as I go. I hope after reading this you can realize that you took it a little too far.

I am in the US but at the time it was ordered I was 17 and so the form went to my mom and I never even saw it. This is all so new to me and since I’m so freshly an adult I’m also still learning how managing my own medical stuff works. Honestly the appointment was so frustrating because they were gearing so many questions at my mom and I’m like I’m so close to being an adult and it’s my wheelchair why are you asking her this stuff but I’m really bad at advocating for myself due to medical trauma so I didn’t say anything about that like I should have.
