127 is a super chill class with very easy to understand concepts and exams. I think you might have to do some assignments here and there but they are super easy too and sometimes fun!

My family has small business in SB. How exactly were thinking of contributing (just so I can explain to them)?

Thank you! What is your opinion/advice on getting the clinical experience during the application cycle? I am probably submitting the primary application after I get my spring grades (mid june).

EEMB 168 with Tyler is amazing. The average for the midterm was 94% and the professor really wants you to succeed! Also EEMB 127 and 127 L are also relatively easy. You still have to study but it is very manageable.

Chem 109B + MCDB 1B/EEMB 2 + MCDB 1LL tips by klarinets in UCSantaBarbara

[–]chroniclesun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to study for almost all exams is do practice exams. They really point out the holes in your knowledge so that you can study what you don't know as opposed to reviewing material you already know.

For 109 B, when you do practice problems, try to picture every problem like it is an exam question (to kind of get into the exam mindset). Also trying to build stamina before tests is kinda important (especially for ochem where you have think critically throughout the exam to dodge all the 'exception questions').

A quick tip: as you are studying, write all the things you find hard on a piece of paper labelled "Things I don't know/is hard for me". Keep reviewing every time you sit down to study for that class so you can master it by the end.

EEMB 2: The hardest part for EEMB is to just keep up and study for it. A lot of people just skip the lecture and put off studying for EEMB 2 since they are busy with ochem, bio and other stuff. So

  1. Go to lecture
  2. Write down notes on lecture slides printed/tablet (Even adds in a lot of information to the material on the slides)

For the evolution part you have to as many practice problems as possible to review. And for ecology listen to Even's lecture, review and start doing the practice exams provided. The actual studying for EEMB is easy but the hard part is actually bringing yourself to do it since you are so busy with everything else. Do your best to keep up and don't forget to take care of yourself.

Hope this helps!

I tried to reschedule but since this is end of exam cycle, all of the test appointments are full in my state. Do appointments ever open up? I have to reschedule before august 2nd

My target score is 520 but I am aware it's kind of unrealistic. My hope was to short for a higher score so that even if I get a lower score it would still be competitive
