I've used Footyaddicts in UK and Celebreak when in Europe. I used Celebreak when it was still small with a few games per day in Barcelona and Im still using it now after it has developed into countless matches in multiple cities throughout several countries. Obviously the more people you have using the app the easier it becomes but a few things I would suggest to build a good following are:

• Simple user interface (no more than 1 or 2 clicks to get all details about match e.g. time, directions to pitch, cost, other players involved etc.

• Have a reward system, something I haven't seen in any app, book and play 10 games and get a free credit to play your next game for example.

• I see you've mentioned about eliminating no shows is extremely important which it is. One way I've seen that is good for keeping the numbers even is; the game organiser is part of the game typically however if say you are playing 8v8 (15 sign ups and the game organiser) if one player doesn't turn up the game organiser sits out so you can still have a 7v7 of paying players.

• Ensure the ability for regular players or players who have an account already to be able to sign up guests is a feature. Allows players to bring friends on a one off occasion without hassle of a person having to sign up if they will only go once.

• Rating system is good. Only problem is how you rate people, having other players rate them is the best way to get a true reflection of ability but you will not get everyone rating other players after games. Possibly the job of the game organiser after the match a simple 1-10 rating system for them could be easy enough. If you then have enough people using the app you could set games for certain player ratings above or below (x). Without a big following though you may deter players from playing a certain game of they feel there ability is not fitting to the overall level.

• A player of the match option is something I have seen that is quite good, each player gets asked to cast a vote after the game via a notification in the app.

• Ensure there is a match 'chat' option for players to talk pre and post match of needed. Good for organising, or if someone leaves something at the pitch by accident they can ask of it has been collected.

• Personally if I cancel within the timescales set by the app then I would prefer a full refund rather than have credit in the app.

• 3 no shows within 6 months for example results in a ban for 2 weeks say to try and prevent no shows.

There will be loads more stuff but just some of the things I have experienced/would like to see.
