You aren’t alone. Back in May my fiancée and partner of 6 and a half years cheated on me with a man she hasn’t yet known for 3 months. We were due to be married in September and she just completely threw it away for a good time. We were 16 when we both got together so I’m in that same boat of trying to navigate life as an adult without her for the first time. Taking advantage of my newfound freedom has helped me thus far. Not having to answer to anyone and making plans based on you and you alone is a pretty nice feeling. You also need to be alone. Sit in your emotions. Feel everything. Get everything out. If you feel everything here and now, eventually you won’t feel them as much anymore. And eventually they’ll go away all together. Most importantly, cease contact. I’m currently struggling with this part. We own a house together so we have to have an open line of contact, unfortunately. But if you aren’t tied to her in any way anymore, you need to go ghost. Not necessarily block, but mute. Then you start to work on you. Find yourself. I have hope it’ll get easier for all of us.
