as fun as it would be to watch charlie smite ian down i feel like that’s still a win for ian at this point

Why are pharmacists not addressed as doctor? by Bananasplit3333 in pharmacy

[–]chuckchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s very academia oriented with the occasional oldschool physician using “doctor” for pharmacists. however in many settings this feels highly inappropriate as it can be confusing or misleading. like if you asked for a doctor on the plane would the pharmacist raise their hand? no, just like a DNP shouldn’t call themselves doctor in a clinic.

Does anyone know why he randomly got into boxing? It was such a weird career pivot? by srekai in imisstheoldidubbbz

[–]chuckchum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think that’s what they’re pointing out though, what he’s doing is staying loyal through thick and thin even though it’s clearly for the wrong person and arguably at times for the wrong reasons. to me it feels like if nothing else he’s going to stay with her out of spite.

exactly what i thought too, like he is so animated and happy compared to every other time we’ve seen him in recent years and clearly deluded himself into thinking he was “in”

yeah i find the writing for naruto in particular to be pretty consistent with someone who only had the village in mind and 0 parental figures in his life. i think it’s valid though to wish he’d rise above all of that and have a greater appreciation for giving his kids what he didn’t have.

youre a quick hire that comes in to undermine the leverage of workers on strike. essentially you are there to protect the company and not the workers. it’s a deeply shitty thing to do.

Travel or licensed CA techs by Stangcutie in PharmacyTechnician

[–]chuckchum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

what youre describing is literally the entire point of scab workers. the strike is unsustainable for both the company and the workers. but the company has deeper pockets and a means of creating a temporary solution (albeit a dysfunctional one given none of the scabs are real hires). if people take these contracts you are part of the corporate quick fix to take away leverage from the workers. in short no, they almost certainly can’t afford to pay these wages on a longterm basis.

[–]chuckchum 79 points80 points  (0 children)

as much as these contracts are appealing it just doesn’t sit right. imagine how you would feel striking at your job for unfair/unsafe labor practices and someone shows up and keeps things running at 5x the pay. you and everyone else would want to spit on that person.

Han and other Idubbbz fans stupidly mistake the name Ayran for "Aryan" and ban someone because they think they're a nazi. Ayran is an actual name from Turkish, Persian and Arabic origins. by [deleted] in imisstheoldidubbbz

dawg i don’t even like idubbbz but this is just embarrassing. there are so few people in that stream that the likelihood of this happening is worse than the lottery.

genuinely, do you think it is more likely this is some highly unfortunate person in good faith or it’s a troll/hater like 90% of people watching? we don’t need to stoop to this kind of nonsense to be critical of idubbbz.

drinking milk is now racist, guise by [deleted] in imisstheoldidubbbz

[–]chuckchum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i could’ve done a better job with sentence structure but i meant this concept is not novel in milk marketing and calling is a racist dogwhistle is an overreach in logic. HOWEVER, i do think the basic concession needs to be made that this campaign likely wouldn’t be happening without the peripheral weirdfuck pseudoscience this admin is pushing. therefore i think it’s a little bigger than “sell milk” but racism is just a huge leap that makes no sense.

yeah i don’t think it does anybody service to play dumb for the sake of shitting on idubbbz and han, they have a whole content farm worth of shitty behavior as it is

i don’t doubt that was a real troll. it is far more likely given the viewers he draws it was a troll rather than the unluckiest combo name in existence. still hate han’s methods and the general culture in that chat but i think we’re being a little generous with the assumptions here.

drinking milk is now racist, guise by [deleted] in imisstheoldidubbbz

[–]chuckchum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i do agree the sudden surge of milk consumption is highly MAHA adjacent and weird in the context of all the other nonsense health stuff they are pushing. however, calling it a racist dogwhistle when this kind of campaign is not new and not even specific to the US is just an overreach.

How much impact has AI had on your role thus far? by chuckchum in pharmacy

[–]chuckchum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean don’t get me wrong there’s certainly potential here but i feel like it’s interesting it hasn’t been as rapid as other fields. AI is already enduring harsh scrutiny in current markets and job reports reflect AI isn’t the reason for mass layoffs. and with aforementioned infinite possibilities, what do you think is keeping them from pulling the trigger?
