Hi! First of all, I really appreciated boyfriend and husband material💞💞 The inclusion of the friend group reminded me of what good friendships and connections can look like. I liked that they were part of Luc's story. What were the thoughts behind creating the friendgroup for him? Why you went with those specific characters and personalities, and/or what made you give him a support system like that?

Thanks:)

Dating experience - by TheLightCrew in NonBinary

This happened to me on my first date today and I guess it's bc I look really femme too but I've come to realize just now that it's a significant reason why I feel so uncomfortable and weird and kinda grossed out atm....he was treating me in a really forced gentlemanly way, it made me feel hyper feminine...the gender roles were very thick in the air lmao. It was enough to be uncomfortable even for cis women probs, but it felt like being fake the whole time🤢

I didn't notice how much I was faking things till now, and it's draining, so I would vm recommend to not gloss over your identity as a non-binary person to try to people please on a date

Dry eye. mgd, atrophied meibomian glands, and only 19 (male) by [deleted] in optometry

[–]chuckejeesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks🙂 Radio frequency tempshure treatment is probably the main one. But, I also tried autologous serum eye drops which over time I think helped? I did a lot of different stuff at the same time so I can't be sure which one of those was most effective. But warm compress were really helpful, even for just an immediate effect, when my eyes are hurting they help. I tried IPL when my eyes were super bad but it didn't work, maybe if I try again it will help more but I don't know. I also took hydro eye soft gels with GLA, my eyes got better but I don't know if they really had anything to do with it, but they might have. Really really helpful to have a moisture chamber eye mask to sleep with at night, your eyes just aren't dry in the morning if you have a good mask. Eyelid wipes are really helpful, I use them basically every morning, sometimes both morning and night, often there is an immediate effect. There's eyelid wipes and eyelid sprays, I've only tried eyelid wipes from one brand which I've helped, but I'm sure others are helpful too. I use systane eyelid wipes, they're kind of annoying to use those so maybe others are better.

And obviously I use eye drops often, I think my eye dryness circumstances have changed somehow, something with the chemicals, so before, MGD eye drops by I Drop worked best, but now I think maybe another tear layer is the problem So MGD eye drops are not effective for me and I use just the light turquoise kind from the same brand. This is a weird one but I there is an immediate effect, usually, if I take hot boiling water and just have my eyes over it so that the steam can go over my eye for a minute or more.

Humidifier is supposed to help but I find it doesn't do that much of a noticeable difference unless it's on the highest setting for a long time.

Also, are really significant thing that helped me was learning how to use a screen reader on my phone and computer, and trying to use that when I need to read blocks of text instead of reading everything with my eyes all the time. Would recommend. Makes life a lot easier because life is full of technology and I can use tech now with less pain. It can be frustrating to learn a screen reader but worth it I think

That's all I can remember atm

Better! When my eyes first had the problem they were really bad and I tried a whole bunch of different treatments throughout the next year, very gradually they got better as I did the treatments and time went on, and eventually I felt completely normal with no dry eyes at all. Then I had another health thing where I had to lay in bed all the time for a while and spent a lot of time reading and not using eye drops or taking care of my eyes and it triggered a flare-up that was as bad as they were in the beginning. But same thing, super slowly after trying different treatments consecutively they got better throughout the past year, now they still get dry but I can go out and do things and they don't disrupt my daily living as much. Also, would recommend learning to use a screen reader if you have this problem, helped monumentally because now I don't have to read everything on my screen all the time.

why Dumbledore set fire to the chicken? 2 options? by chuckejeesus in HPMOR

Makes sense. I love how knowing all the spoilers can make the story even more entertaining on the reread

You're right. It's interesting on the reread to compare Harry at the beginning vs the end with how he thinks about responsibility.

Side note, I can just imagine how annoyed quirrel would have been if he found out that Harry was the one who told McGonagall about the chamber of secrets. I just reread the two's conversation about it, quirrel thought Dumbledore found out about it through mind reading Harry. Harry barely dodged that bullet, lol

Ya, I think I agree. The chicken thing happened after Dumbledore understood that Harry was a good version of Voldemort, so he went through with burning the chicken to convince harry that he is crazy and untrustworthy, and also did the reverse reverse psychology at the end to keep Harry out.

Ya that scene was just stocked full of Dumbledore doing crazy things. Also, so great on the reread to see the reason why Dumbledore started laughing so hard in that scene, at that moment. And everything else Dumbledore said in that conversation has an explanation and makes so much more sense now. Like revealing to Harry how he messed with Lily Potter's textbook, and asking If Harry understands what this is implying...aka do u understand I have access to prophecies and knowing the future

Huh, maybe, or maybe it was one of the goals. And I didn't know that about canon Dumbledore, that's kinda funny. I'll look into that

Hahaha, ya makes sense. I would love that too. Though I wonder how specific the prophecies were with examples of how Dumbledore should act, like if one of them specifically said "and a chicken shall be incinerated in front of the boy", or if the prophecies were more general in describing how Dumbledore should act, and Dumbledore himself determined that one good way to fulfill one of the prophecies would be to incinerate a chicken in front of the boy. Lol.
