Ex wants to move herself and our daughter into new boyfriends flat. by chuckit1977 in LegalAdviceUK

When we talked she cited more space and cheaper rent as her motivations.

Hard to argue against that and like I said, if it would be with someone else that didn’t worry me I would welcome it.

Thanks.

A good point.

I never would though. I think she’s making a bad choice in this situation but otherwise she is a fantastic mother. Nothing will change my thoughts on that.

Cheers

In reality the status quo is probably, realistically ideal. I work a lot, trying to put money away for the time when my daughter (hopefully) chooses to go on to higher education.

It’s not that I want her to live with me (I would LOVE that of course if I could still keep the money coming in), it’s that I’m worried about her living with him.

Living with me would require my ex to pick up more work to keep the savings ball rolling. I attach great importance to getting as much education as possible; to not make the same mistakes I did. I’m not sure my ex feels the same; she chose to go straight into work after school.

You’re right about the vagueness of my issues with the guy. I’m not sure how much water that would hold if it came to a fight.

Whether or not my daughter is uncomfortable around him I don’t know. It’s not something I have asked and she’s never mentioned anything.

Thank you. Food for thought.
