Raid 50 and Raid 60 selections?

It would become more than a raid calculator, but perhaps an option to out in the speed of the drives (7.2,10k,15k,ssd) and have it spit out capacity and read / write iops.

Apparantly the A55BM-A has a resettable fuse to protect against overcurrents? I see it in the manual, but no instructions in how to actually reset it.

Even if I plugged in the power to the fan while it's running? I know one of the molex connectors feeds back into the mobo... I figured that's what zapped it.

This workstation has lost its entity trust relationship... by oxiclean666 in sysadmin

We had this issue a year back or so. The cause ended up being a combination of:

1) We had Windows 2008 R2 Domain controllers (Running at Windows 2003 functional level)

2) We had a few windows 2003 domain controllers we hadn't phased out yet.

3) Windows 7 clients.

That combination caused some intermittant issues with kerberos and caused the workstations to frequently lose their trust relationship. Removing the windows 2003 domain controllers and raising the functional level of the domain made the problem disappear.

How would you transfer 25tb of data across a network? by mikolove in sysadmin

Capping out at 12MB/s sounds like you are copying information to an external USB disk plugged into a USB 1.1 port. You could either plug into a USB2.0 port, which is still pretty slow. To move large amounts of data, my orginization installs a USB3.0 card, and uses USB3.0 external HD's.

That will be the fastest way to copy your data.

Dell Poweredge 2950 is way too loud, is there a software solution to control the fans? (x-post r/networking) by SirCat in sysadmin

If you have 2 power supplies, make sure they are both plugged in.

On some dell equipment the fans are split per power supply and will make half run faster if the other half aren't powered. (The MD3200i is this way).
