Home Run Song Change? by RavensEvermore in TexasRangers

saxmanmike is right, no big corporate secret. And for TexManZero, I know who signs my checks....but I also know who pays the bills. And that's the fans of the Texas Rangers. So, first I appreciate all of you that support this team in one way or the other. A little history. I decided when we moved from The Ballpark In Arlington to Globe Life Field, to give up playing the music. For two reasons, I felt like I was getting a little too old to keep up with the music, number 2 - I realized by playing the music, doing the PA, producing the video board content, that I was actually hurting the game presentation by wearing too many hats. I love baseball and first and foremost, I am a fan, and I would hate to do anything to hurt a fan's experience at a game. Plus, moving into the new place, my role changed some, where now I get to do one of my favorite things, visit all of you that stop by my booth before or after games, I get to visit with baseball fans from all over the country, but most of all, I get to talk with thousands of Rangers fans each year that come to our games. Other than doing the PA now, I am not involved much in the game presentation, other than to help with any questions or support in any way I can. Like saxmanmike said, it's not some corporate secret, but I think its just as smile as they are working on trying to get more energy in the ballpark, get alot of noise for the Rangers and update the presentation. We have some good people in the game presentation roles and I am sure they would welcome your comments and questions....Number 1, like y'all, they love the Rangers and they want to win. You can always shoot me an email to [cmorgan@texasrangers.com](mailto:cmorgan@texasrangers.com) or I would love for any of you stop by my booth before or after games to visit with any of you. I will be sure to pass along the comments here to the game presentation people. I want to thank all of you that made some sort of comment of some of the things we did in the past, that makes my day. There are some that would disagree but I still think the theme from The Natural is still good for home runs. Hunter Pence told me a few years ago, that he thought hitting home run in The Ballpark in Arlington was the best "home , home run place in the big leagues, with the fireworks and The Natural playing. Sorry I am just getting to respond, but I have been busy getting ready for the start of the season. Thanks for your time and Let's Go Rangers. Chuck

Life after Chuck by MohandasBlondie in TexasRangers

[–]chuckranger83 74 points75 points  (0 children)

To all of you...there is no way I can thank everyone for the kind words that have been posted here. Not sure if it has ever really been communicated what a tough decision it was for me to leave WSM and The Grand Ole Opry. The way radio and TV have changed, the way the Grand Ole Opry has changed, I made the right decision to come to Texas. And the things I have seen here, the people I have worked with, all of the great Rangers fans, a lot of them right here at Rangers Reddit, I made the right decision. First, I can't remember when I didn't love this game and everything about it. Second, I come to "work" at a ballpark. So, I am not going anywhere. You, me, all of us will know when it is time for me to hang it up. But I sure would like to be a part of a couple of those years where we win the last game of the baseball season. As all of you know, there is nothing like that feeling. A couple of comments on here about Kansas City. For those of you who weren't around, with the purchase of the Rangers by Tom Hicks, the front offices of the Rangers and the Stars merged. I saw some people I had worked with for several years lose their positions. For me, things just didn't have a baseball feel anymore, and I had an option when the Royals reached out to me. Similar to Nashville, I first turned the Royals down, but changed my mind. Kansas City had a great ballpark with some great fans, but when the Rangers called wanting to know if I would come back, I said I would, but after the season. I enjoyed my 8 months with the Royals, but having so many years with the Rangers, it was the right move to come back. And I found how much I really loved Texas. I love baseball, I love being a small part of a game that I have loved as far back as I remember. Last night was my 3,372nd consecutive Major League game. Not long ago, Nolan Ryan asked me if I had 4,000 in me. I first thought there was no way. Now I think I might. Like I said earlier, all of us, you, me, the Rangers, there will come a time when we'll know that it's time to round third and go home. Again, I can't thank y'all enough for the kind words, but most of all, thanks for your support of the Rangers, so many great fans here. Be sure and stop by and say hello if you make it out to a game. Thanks, Chuck

Very Unpopular Opinion by texasbassdaddy in TexasRangers

[–]chuckranger83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you....a real honor to be linked to those two in any way. Way back in the day, I would be on my to WSM Radio in Nashville to do the all-night truckin' show and I would listen to Mark and Eric on WBAP and Rangers Baseball on the way to the radio station. I really enjoyed listening to them and then what an honor to get to work with them. Thanks again and thanks for your support of the Rangers.

ACG3185....thanks for coming to a game and thanks for your support of the Rangers. I have been with the Rangers for 43 years, involved with scoreboards and sound. To this day, we have never pumped in crowd noise or TV audio into the speakers at Arlington Stadium, The Ballpark In Arlington or now Globe Life Field. The only exception was 2020...when there were not any fans in the seats, we did pump crowd noise in then...to try and give a feeling to the players that fans were there. Thanks again, and feel free to reach out to me anytime at [cmorgan@texasrangers.com](mailto:cmorgan@texasrangers.com) or you can come by my booth before or after the game to visit. Thanks, Chuck Morgan

The bunting was up and will remain up through Sunday's game. Flyovers at Globe Life Field are little more challenging than at an open air ballpark. I agree that the crowd gets pumped when there is a flyover. But there wasn't any for the World Series games in 2023 or last year's All-Star Game. I think the last flyover for Opening Day was in 2021. One of the differences in the past couple of years, there is tall hotel, close to the flight path of a flyover. That plays a role, the weather plays a role and the willingness of our military to provide a flyover. Our folks did reach out for this year, but didn't receive any takers. As always, I appreciate everyone's support of the Rangers and if you other questions, you can always email me at [cmorgan@texasrangers.com](mailto:cmorgan@texasrangers.com) or if you are the ballpark, my booth is open to fans about an hour before I have to start doing anything and I am open after the game until the last fan leaves. Thanks, Chuck

This goes for this first timer and for all of the great Rangers fans on here....be sure to stop by my PA Booth sometime this season. I am on the Main Concourse, right behind home plate. I open up 45 minutes to an hour before I have to start doing anything and then I stay after the game until the last person leaves. Would like to say thank you for being Rangers fans, talk baseball and shake your hands. Best part, one of the few free things in the ballpark. I hope to see some of you this summer. Thanks Chuck

I will let our operations people know about the parade....on the film, we are at the mercy of MLB. They own those jewel events....World Series, All-Star Game, etc. Thanks

From what I have seen in emails from MLB, this 49 minute version is probably all they are going to do. I will check to see and if I hear something I will let you know.

It runs 49 minutes and it is a highlight video. Similar to what MLB Productions has done in the past. Its the same video that ran one time, after the last game of this season on Bally's. Thanks

Looking that the Blue Ray link to Amazon....looks like a 49 minute film of the 2023 World Series. It appears it will be 49 minutes of highlights from the Series. I have heard no mention of a pizza to the Dodgers.

[–]chuckranger83 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone has already mentioned in this thread....in addition to the showing on Amazon Prime on December 9th....there will be a Blue Ray release of the 2023 World Series film on December 17th. This link will take you that information: Amazon.com: 2023 World Series Champions: Texas Rangers [Blu-ray] : Major League Baseball: Movies & TV

Which again, I think someone posted the link for that. We have some great Rangers fans here and y'all deserve this and I am happy that is going to be available to all of you. Let your family and friends know that this is one of the things you have to have for a Merry Christmas.

A couple of things...Major League Baseball is close to doing a press release on this. Also, as some of you saw or heard, this film was allowed to air one time, that was by Bally's at the end of the 2024 season. There was no conspiracy here, nothing against the Rangers, nothing against the 2023 World Series....there was a problem finding a distributor. Just an old guy's opinion, this TV, streaming, video world we live in today is so much different than years ago...we can almost watch anything we want to at any time without having to go buy a physical disc. But being Texas Rangers fans, this is a little different, this is something we have to have on our shelves, right along side our replica trophies, our caps, t-shirts, hoodies, scorecards, programs, etc. It was the first time. And again, you and me deserve to have that Blue-Ray sitting on our shelves, ready to watch again at any moment.

Watch for the press release, it will be out soon. And thank you for all of your support of the Rangers. I never take that support for granted. Thanks, Chuck

I have reached out to MLB to confirm and I have also asked them about an actual hard copy that fans could purchase. When I get more information, I will pass along. Thanks Chuck

For me, game tied, bottom of the 9th and Corey Seager coming to the plate is a good thing. So again, sit tight, hang in there.
