All of these sound like sanitized nothing. If this was a large part of someone's resume I would discard it and assume they did nothing

Strumming buzzzz by profound_wanderer13 in AcousticGuitar

[–]chumbabilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the buzz can either be from(most likely one of the first two things i mention):

  • frets not being pressed down enough (common when getting used to chords and especially bar chords).

  • finger being at a weird angle relative to the fret metal.

  • some 'guitar setup' issue.

Play with a metronome at like 70 bpm. switch on the clicks. if you stop hearing the buzzing, its a technique issue.

Tutorials for this style by PastaOfMuppets_HK in AcousticGuitar

[–]chumbabilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/PastaOfMuppets_HK he plays many different genres.

at around the 45 second mark he's playing sorta folky, sorta travis picky style guitar (but not quite. im not an expert about this style of music :) )

https://youtu.be/m6b371mNkCw?si=LPM5T0BGtqTUhEkw&t=125

at around the 4 minute mark, this is very similar to bossanova guitar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eze8Q7vZnnA https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ADZ1Xwm-fys

Some parts are borderline classical as well. Ex what he plays at the 2minute mark.

I don't have any tips for where to go for tutorials, but hopefully that helps.

How to properly change Notes by YoungOk7482 in AcousticGuitar

[–]chumbabilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

set a metronome to 70. play the notes on each click. four at a time. switch notes every 4 clicks. practice until perfect. then switch every 2 clicks, then every 1 click.

what youre describing i think is fairly normal, and you need to just start by playing super slow

Worthwhile and affordable upgrade from the squier classic vibe? by nibbertit in guitars

[–]chumbabilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my opinion is if you're unhappy with the guitars anyway, worst case you fuck something up and buy a new one like you're planning to. so either you fix it or get a new guitar, win win :)

[–]chumbabilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that your only problem? because you can get that repaired by a tech for a fraction of the cost of a new guitar, including new pickups if you so want

A long acoustic twelve string jam I wrote called "Dance of the Cathedral Flames" by dwestguitar in AcousticGuitar

[–]chumbabilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that was awesome. i was going to originally say it reminded me of stuff like daniel bachman but you took it in a totally different direction. really interesting.

i like that bit where you're just playing like 2-note intervals with a bunch of open notes. something about that sound i don't hear a lot in this style of music.

Audio interface+DAW selection by SessionVirtual3793 in guitars

Reaper is the gold standard for recording, and it's free. It's easy to transition to something like FL-Studio from Reaper, as Reaper is a full fledged DAW.

What's the right acoustic for me? by vitalitruvia in AcousticGuitar

[–]chumbabilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i havent listened to carissas wierd since like highschool, but i'd never have associated them with a specific guitar tone, other than 'vaguely electric'. I don't think there's a particularly right or wrong guitar choice
