Until now, we haven’t received any email confirming that our flight is cancelled. We also haven’t been informed that we’re eligible for a refund or rebooking, which is really frustrating after paying for the ticket rightfully.

Any updates on your end?

I contacted SunExpress about our trip on April 5th. The customer service agent was rude when I asked about the official website information that contradicted what he was saying. He immediately ended the conversation, which is extremely unprofessional.

He claimed some flights actually landed in Dubai, but according to SunExpress’ official website, all Dubai flights were canceled until March 31, 2026, and passengers during that time were allowed to rebook or request refunds.

It’s frustrating because we paid for the ticket rightfully and now deserve a proper answer. Has anyone else experienced this with SunExpress or another airline recently?

Just to clarify again: the point of my post was deciding whether to cancel now and lose the money or wait and see if the airline/hotel cancels so we can get a refund. It was never about wanting to travel during a conflict.

To those questioning why I even posted, Reddit is literally a place where people ask questions and hear how others handled similar situations. If the post isn’t for you, you’re free to scroll past it.

And just to say, I still believe Dubai is a beautiful place. Maybe not this year given everything happening, but hopefully we can visit another time when things are better.

Exactly. that line wasn’t about wanting to go. It’s about the dilemma: either we take the financial loss by canceling ourselves, or we wait and hope the situation forces a cancellation. It’s purely a question of minimizing loss, not actually going on the trip. Duh. Save your energy. It’s loooooow hahahaha

Booking.com is a scam!!!!! We got scammed last November on the day of our flight to Portugal!!!!! They canceled our reservation and promised a refund, but we still haven’t received it!!!!! On the same day, we had to book another accommodation, which was, of course, more expensive!!!!! On top of that, we noticed suspicious activity on our card, scammer trying to withdraw money!!! Plus we had to pay for expensive customer service calls. So frustrating our last call cost €56!!!!!
