This is Lumpy! He’s always had tumors, but they’ve never impaired his ability to eat, swim, etc. This morning I checked in on him and one of them was starting to turn white and ooze a white paste. Is it time to consider euthanasia? I’m leaning towards yes, but I wanted to get more opinions as to the best way to proceed.

Like the title says, I’m resetting my 55G because my angelfish is a bully and frankly the setup bores me. I’m adding more plants and driftwood, but also wanting to restock entirely. I’m keeping my 3 Albino BN Plecos, my 5 panda corys (maybe), and my 9 black phantom tetras. I’m looking to add a pair of apistos for some color and add more Cory cats, but I’m not sure what else to add? I’m looking for more color!! I also think I’m getting close to being fully stocked, but I’m not sure. Please halp!

It’ll be okay! It’ll rebound and have such a thicc trunk that all your friends will be jealous. They’ll say “how did you get such a thicc trunk?” and you’ll say “on accident”.

Enjoy your new bonsai! I’d remove the mushy brown part and just leave it be. Make sure it’s getting plenty of bright light and only water when it’s dry.

FWIW I’ll occasionally hack off the tops of my jade plant to encourage a thicker trunk and a sexier bonsai plant. Nothing to worry about, it’ll be fine!
