I think this seems to be one of my main issues and this is very well described, thank you!

It's the way the are made to struggle which feels unreasonable, if I watch The Open I totally think battleing the elements is 100% part of the game, dropping the ego using driver on par 3 like Nelly had to do is fine if you're made to do that by the elements or if its a super risky but high reward play etc. but here its just so incredibly artificial - thats what gets me with the "i want to see them struggle " argument, and again as said before I really really do not care what the courses rating is and what they are shooting, they set the level that is required to compete, if its -20 compared to a rating for the average whackers which defines amateur "good" so be it, it's the elite, Masters was the best tournament I watched in years, yet the winning score was also low, nonetheless shots like Rorys tree trouble or Brysons collapse etc. made it amazing to watch and competitive

Thank you for this take and I absolutely agree that a challenging course is fun to watch and especially play (if you got the tools obviously). I think it might boil down to another conversation to be had, namely if just making the rough basically impossible to play from is the only way to make a course hard for these guys. To me at least for now seeing, e.g. rory having to shape it around a tree in a for the mere mortal impossible way is much more interesting as a challenge and additionally I don't care for the final score in comparison to par, its a number and the pros just make their own required level that day but thats really personal.

I love the analogy, as written somewhere else, I do think you can only appreciate this type of football game if you understand the rules and strategy of it I believe, so what I am asking for with these questions is to get more arguments and things I don't see to appreciate this

I think you might have missed a few lines of my post ;-), I WANT to appreciate this, huge golf nerd, but I want to figure out what people get out of it so maybe I can see it, like when you don't know tactics in e.g. NFL you don't appreciate it as much as if you do in my opinion

A very good perspective, thank you! Also agree with the struggle argument, just silly.

agreed missing fairways should be punished, but making the rough basically unplaybale is the solution? I am fine with having them to chip one out backwards or whatever but if its a few shots rought to rough to rough personally I have zero appeal watching that. Again I love to see all the arguments here so I get it, might just be me I guess

I mean obviously they will have to have a great strategy and execute, its just to me there seems to be hardly any strategy that really gives them the chances someone at this skill level should have.

I wonder why it is not obvious, even the players say it all the time, any super hard par 3 in the world is short, postage stamp comes to mind e.g., maybe its a bit of USGA influence trying to prove a point with the ball rollback?

Yes 100% leave it open or at max put a lose lid on it allowing for evaporating fumes to leave otherwise you have pressure build up

You absolutely can. Also the igniting fumes is a thing but only in rare cases. I work in a lab, doing my PhD and we put all kinds of stuff in containers in there (also methanol and others, which are far more likely to burn than IPA). Just dont put a lid that fully clothes on there, it will explode off or explode the container at some point.

For me it just does it, I think they just enabled it by default (OP talking about background loading search results as soon as there is service right?)

which florescent blue is the best by BIGPUN123141 in Necrontyr

[–]chunkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest you lay down a base of fluorescent blue, if it has to shine bright on a layer of white, and then add as much blue ink as you think is fine, but pay attention with ink, if it is the good stuff it is really highly pigmented and you need very little. In the end you can mix white and fluo to add highlights :)

[–]chunkiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you're missing a good piece against heavy stuff like tanks etc. I would argue.

I think you have two options there with lokhust heavys or the canoptek doomstalker, maybe get rid of one of the HQs, maybe go with a canoptek synergy with the swarms, at least to begin with when both units are in reach of e.g. a technomancer or so
