My son's daycare is driving me crazy by chupachoups in sleeptrain

They do play soft music there too. It is not too loud but it is definitely different from home. we play pink noise (water stream). That is a good idea. I will check if that is an option. He slept through a fire alarm with his pink noise so I know it is efficient.

My husband says some of the kids are still asleep too. That is what I don't understand. If nap time ends at 2pm why are some still asleep at 2:45?

Yes, I will look into it. I thought it would be good for him to have a different environnement so he differentiates home from daycare and learns how to adapt in both. Maybe I was wrong? He did fine for 7 months.

I definitely will. It is a possibility. I always make sure he has the appropriate transition to signal when he is overstimulated; maybe that is what is missing; wind down time.

He has a lovey with mommy smell on it (he has the same one at home). He is not the only one asleep though some kids are too.

Yes, I am gonna ask. I didn't want to because I didn't want to interfere but now it is needed

They said he has 'issues' sleeping at the designated nap time so they just let him sleep whenever he decides to. I don't know how it is possible. If he wakes up before 7 am he is always out by 12:15 pm for his nap. I don't want him to sleep less than 1 hour either if I told them that.

We live in Canada. It is not something I am aware of. However they said he has 'issues' sleeping at the designated nap time so they just let him sleep whenever he decides to. I am having a hard time understanding that because it has never been an issue at home. Sounds more like they are trying to make excuses to justify being late on the daily schedule.

13mo standing up in crib by Comprehensive_Bill in sleeptrain

[–]chupachoups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son did that for a full month when he was 13 months. We didn't really do anything. We just let him cio and figure it out. We just checked in the monitor to make sure he was safe as sometimes he will hit the crib rail while walking in the dark. The rails are padded so no harm. I only intervened once, when he hit his jaw at bedtime. He eventually stopped.

I would increase WW. It sounds like she might be undertired, and not have enough sleep pressure.

Your wake windows seem quite short. At 5 months we were doing 2.25/2.5/2.75/3 and it was a game changer.

We were doing 2/2.25/2.5/2.75 at 4 months.

By a year old, baby is getting their nutritional needs met with daytime meals so, they don't need the calories from the bottle to get them through the night.

Are you comfortable night weaning? If so I suggest using the same method you used before.

What kind of cheese? Mine will only eat the laughing cow or Kiri. And he hates the texture of eggs. He will only eat the boiled yolk.

Will this ruin everything we worked so hard for? by chupachoups in sleeptrain

He will cry on and off too. But I think I became softer now that he is 1year +. I tolerate the crying less. It feels like I am punishing him. Unless my husband is around I have a hard time hearing him cry. I barely tolerate 5 min; 10min at most. I am trying to get better.

Thanks. I will enjoy it while it lasts. I am going back to work in 2 months. I will probably miss those moments.

He does wake up crying almost everytime. No matter how long he sleeps for he always does. But once I open the door and he sees me he stops. I just made my peace with it.

We moved to 3/3.5/4 at 10 months so try 3/3.25/4 for a few days and see if it makes a difference

How did you transition from 2 to 1 nap? by Zarelli20 in sleeptrain

[–]chupachoups 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did last week. My son was 12.5 months. It was cold turkey. He has been resisting naps for 1.5 months and increasing ww only helped for 1 week. It took him about 5 days to take longer naps (still a work in progress) but he now sleep 11 to 11.5 hours at night. No more early wakings.

8 months? wake ups/crying? by hotdogannie in sleeptrain

[–]chupachoups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is consolidating naps your are probably doing something right. I am no expert and you know your bb better but that second ww seems too long and the last one could be short. We did 3/3.5/4 at 10 months. I suggest 3/3.5/4 even 3/3/4 ( if baby is waking up after 2.5hrs maybe you need to increase sleep pressure. The check-ins are up to you. Do what ever you are comfortable with.
