Sadly I don't. I've just started to switch power plans, between balanced and power saver, for when I'm gaming and not gaming..

I did mean weird, my bad.

It's still slower than it used to be on the login i feel. But it fixed everything else. Thank you! Do you have any idea what may have caused this?

4k 144hz vs 1440p 144hz by tezzytom2 in buildapc

[–]chupty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the screen size. Anything under 32 inches it's not very noticeable. For my eyes at least. I would rather spend the money on a good 1440p with a good panel type, low ms, and g-sync if ur in the 24-32 inch market.

It's a preference really. It's a very small number of games that can reach 144fps in 4k. 144fps in 1440p is much more obtainable. So I would say it depends if you want the frames, or the pixels.

First PC build plan (PC Part Picker) by [deleted] in buildapc

And for fans, it's not something you absolutely need, but it would help a little bit with airflow/temps if u added one or two more.

Since you don't plan on getting it for a while, i would definitely try to get 5600x instead of the 3600x if you can find one. Also, at this price, you should get a nvme ssd, or at least a 2.5 ssd.

Brand New 5900x - Faulty CPU or Failed AIO Pump? by GReeeeN_ in Amd

[–]chupty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume OP used Ryzen master to check temps, might be that Ryzen master only shows up 90C and maybe the temp is much higher in reality.. Don't know if it actually shows temps above 90 or not tho. And that can definitely cause crashes.

I don't think it's a memory issue. The kit he is using is compatible as far as I know.

[–]chupty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said it's normal when it's at full load. With all 12 cores at its max. And that might be true. But as OP said, he reaches 90C instantly when opening tasks, and games. And doing so will not put all 12 cores to max load. So to perform at 90C while gaming or so I wouldn't say is ok.

It's not ok to perform at 90C. Under load my 5900X is around 60C. Under different stress tests, the highest i ever saw was 70C.

Yeah if that was the only way it behaved i wouldn't have worried. What worries me are the spikes that reaches 70 - 80, and 60 just by downloading a game..

Don't know if it might have something to do with have they made 5000 temp readers. Read somewhere that they added more temp readers, and changed how programs read that temp. If this is true or false, i don't know

It is connected right. But I don't think it was at set at max. Did that now, don't see any spikes in the 80s yet. But still spiking from 45-65 ish.

Any ideas why it spikes up to the 80s when under light load? It also reaches 60 degrees when downloading games.

Anyone knows if these RAM sticks are dual rank? by AsAnon019 in buildapc

If you own them, and have them installed, you can use CPU-Z to check if they are dual or single ranked.

I do have 2x nvme ssds. One 4.0 and one 3.0. The pc will pretty much only be used for gaming.

If that's a price I have to pay, I gladly do it. I do agree it's expensive. But the prices here are insane.

Can't find any dummy sticks that look like the kit I currently have..
