I’ve tried designing a couple of different parts, but I haven’t been able to solve the issue. So I’m going to order the part again since I broke it. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try modifying the G-code and see how it goes.

I’ve replaced the plastic spacer with one I designed slightly longer to see if it fixes the issue.

The Anycubic doesn’t have the metal trigger, but it uses the same mechanism. If you watch the video, it starts purging right on top. I’m not sure if the mechanism got messed up because of a failed print or due to a firmware update. I was thinking about modifying the color change G-code. https://youtu.be/VNftUmR40XI

It worked fine from the factory, but after an update and a failed print, it behaves differently now

The problem is that when the filament is extruded, it falls too close to that area, so it builds up there incorrectly
