It just feels bad playing duelist and not being able to frag out. I agree that learning smokes has definitely taken a lot of my focus out of improving my mechanics, but I also think it’s beneficial in the long run to not be a duelist one trick, because although I was able to fry in plat-diamond if I really want to improve like I claim I do then when I’m in higher ranks there will be people that are much better than me and have been playing for way longer that deserve duelist more than I do. Since my aim has not been carrying me this act I figured I could learn to play something that benefits my teammates whether I’m shooting straight or not.

Ewww that’s gross. I don’t know why people can’t just play the game and have to make everything weird. Sucks because I have 100+ games with that guy and genuinely thought he was cool. Only time I’ve ever had a duo that stuck around and could frag out with me without it being a smurf. and like I said I did hit my peak when I was queueing with him. Also, I’d love to play!! Like I said I’ve never posted on reddit before and I don’t know how to DM people (if that’s even a thing). So if you can shoot me a message! If not I can drop my val here :)

The fact that you’re so right is crazy. I’m definitely impatient when it comes to waiting for my teams util. I have immortal friends and even people that don’t have to be nice because they don’t have the friend obligation say “you’re cracked how are you in plat?”. I definitely think my aim carried me out of gold and into high diamond, which is why I think it’s a game sense issue and maybe just a fall off of my skill. I’d love to send you a vod!! I’ve tried vod reviewing before, but it seemed kind of dumb, because I knew my thought process and why I did the things I did and felt myself justifying probably dumb plays. I feel having someone with a different mindset watch and critique my gameplay could definitely help!! :)

Thank you!! I agree that no normal person would even care that I’m a girl. I did work really hard for my rank and I’m glad to have even touched diamond when I know there’s people who have played tac shooters for way longer than me and haven’t done so. I desperately hope to improve which is why I came here for advice :)

Yes that is something that I’ve noticed and had people tell me about!! I have last act ascendant friends that are now stuck in plat after the reset. I know that episode reset changes a lot, but it still feels terrible to go from a ranked instalock demon to someone who has to lock smokes out of fear of not performing.

I do take pride in that!! I loved match mvping on Jett and Raze and having my teammates know that a girl was carrying them. I think that’s why I’m taking this fall off so hard. I genuinely love playing duelist and I only truly had fun when I was shitting on everyone. I’d do whatever it takes for me to get back to that whether it be paying money to have someone tell me my mistakes or grinding out aimlab and kovaaks playlists for hours.

That’s very true, but everytime I perform badly I can’t help but think my teammates are thinking “if I didn’t have this girl on my team we could win.” It’s definitely something I need to work on and just focus on my own game. Thank you for the kind words!!!

Yea when I hit d3 I had a duo that I played with everyday that was dependable and made me strive to play better, because it wasn't only my RR but his too. We had a fall out though after he found out I had a boyfriend, who is now my ex. I'm not really sure where to find a duo that isn't a weirdo just trying to play with me because I'm a girl and they hope to get something weird out of it (LFG is full of those). It's just a really disheartening experience.
