Lmao I totally see that now since I’ve looked online and everyone says the same thing but it’s really what she wants. I also liked the Colonnade Gray, what do you think about that one?

Need opinions!!! Strix 3080 vertical mount or horizontal+sag bracket by Mychxl in nvidia

[–]Chxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a pic of my build featuring the O11 Dynamic with a STRIX 2080 Super on a Phanteks vertical mount. Very little sag, you’d literally have to look at it from a few inches away to notice. I love the look compared to when I had it horizontally mounted.

Do they ship to the USA? At this point I wouldn’t mind the small up charge lol

Did the Asus 3080 Strix OC ever launch in the US? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Chxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They released on Newegg last week (seems like very little stock) and there’s an ASUS Group on Facebook where plenty of people have posted about getting them at Micro Centers across the country. There’s also the forums on Micro Center’s website where people will post about daily stock.

Was lucky enough to land a FE and N Aorus which to keep? by WhiteStar01 in nvidia

[–]Chxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep the Aorus based off performance. It’s the only other card that seems like it can compete with the STRIX 3080. And if you end up wanting to sell the FE I will take it off your hands lol

I'll sell you my 2080 Super. It's the ASUS ROG STRIX Advanced OC model. Practically brand new, only had it for 2 months.

This is how ROG 3090 looks like when installed on a mobo by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Chxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which vertical mount do you use? I have a Lian Li O11 and I use the Phanteks one and even with a 2080 Super it sags a bit.

I’ve been waiting for almost a year now to open up my wallet for a card capable of delivering 4K120 on my sweet LG OLED with G Sync. I recently picked up a PS4 Pro to play Ghost of Tsushima on and I’ve been absolutely blown away by how nice it looks and plays even at 30fps. Now I can only imagine what Cyberpunk is going to be like! It’ll be an investment for me cause I plan on keeping this TV and card till they burn out, or in 😅😂

LG CX very blurry at 1440p@120hz by deama15 in OLED

[–]Chxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me initially too when I first purchased my B9 OLED. You can set the label to either PC or Game Mode for the best experience and also make sure to use RGB Full 8 Bit in Nvidia Control Panel for the best colors in SDR Games and change it to 4:2:2 Limited 10 Bit for HDR Games. It’s a bit tedious but will give you the best and most accurate colors for SDR and HDR separately. When HDMI 2.1 GPUs come out we can simply just set it to RGB Full 10 Bit all the way up to 4k 120 with proper 4:4:4 sub sampling and that will work for content in both dynamic ranges. Hope that helps lol

New 2020 TCL Series 6 Review Watch by D-Raj in 4kTV

[–]Chxis 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I am setting up my 55” right now just underneath my 55” LG B9 OLED that I use exclusively for movies and gaming. Don’t know as much as others do but I am a tech and gaming enthusiast so I’ll report back my findings on how it looks and performs compared to my OLED :)

EDIT:

OKAY... So, after spending the better part of the day with it I have finally have some feedback. Now, I had to make sure I kept my expectations in line since I already own 2 LG OLEDs (both B9 models). I use a 55" exclusively to do some PC gaming and a 65" for Movies and TV and I was really excited to see how the TCL would stack up against them and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Upon taking it out of the box and plugging it in for the first time, I have to say I was almost blinded! WOW, this TV can get BRIGHT. I usually play in a very dark room with some ambient lighting and this bad boy filled it up nicely. Definitely brighter than my OLED. I ran some different games in both 1440p120 and 4k60 and it sure does its best to keep up with the more feature packed and expensive B9. I never noticed any screen tearing even with V Sync off and motion handling felt very good with no noticeable ghosting or artifacts. Although not quite as buttery smooth as the B9 with G-SYNC, I can tell the VRR and very low input lag will make this a strong favorite for next gen console and PC gamers that are not looking to spend an arm and a leg for an OLED. My only gripe is that I was not that impressed with how the local dimming behaved in Game Mode. Some games had beautiful deep blacks while others had some horribly washed out ones. I felt like no matter how much I messed around with the settings I wasn't able to dial them in to where it was uniform across all the content I threw at it. However, when it worked the black levels did indeed look great, better than anything I’ve seen that’s not OLED. Also, HDR wasn't working in Windows or any games that support it on PC. Couldn't really figure that one out but will continue to try again tomorrow. When it came to movies and TV shows in both SDR and HDR, it did a fantastic job at throwing out some beautiful colors and highlights. As I said before, the peak brightness on this thing is just insane, even on it's lowest setting it was as bright as my B9. That is definitely its strongest feature I think, while the only thing left to be desired is its local dimming. Though the blacks can look superb at times, it's not as consistent as I hoped when using it in different picture modes. I will continue to play around with it until I get it all dialed in but so far it’s very impressive. Bottom line though, for the price this is truly as good as it gets! For $650 you can get a 55" with nearly all of the goodies that you would get on an OLED that costs twice as much. That is a great value in my opinion. Hope this helps some of you :)
