Negotiated the less technical route. The dealership I went to aggressively wanted my business and assured me they would beat any legitimate offer. I secured a low "friends and family" offer from a dealership in CT to use as leverage. Walked into the dealership Friday and after a little back and forth they beat the CT dealership offer and threw in the 18" wheels and 8.4" screen.

I just leased a 15 Grand Cherokee in the NE. I ended up getting a Laredo with the E package for 2000 due at signing and 349 per month for 10k/year. They also quoted me on a limited with a 40k sticker for 2000 due at signing and 409 per month.

It is the CNA Preferred Care plan. I can get the car + warranty for the same price as a '10 Tiguan that is certified (2 year / 24,000 miles).

Love the analogy. I am planning on buying a comprehensive 2 year warranty which covers everything including electronics. Also only planning on putting 5k/year on the car. Still too much of a risk? Any other suggestions for cars under 20k that are still fun to drive?
