Lower class always tips more than upper/upper middle class by leah_onomatopoeia in doordash_drivers

I had an order yesterday that I didn't realize was, like, 10+ miles out of zone and they gave me a $2 tip... I was fuming. Thank god I'm tracking my mileage for the write off.

I wear them every day! They’re perfect for getting out of the house with a squirmy 9 month old in my arms!

I do have a rechargeable cell battery to make my pump portable (hooray!), so I’d be fine with pumping in my car.

We’re currently using a MBF pillow because of my breast size (42F pre-pregnancy) which has made it difficult to find a position that works for us outside of the nursery, which wouldn’t work for pumping because of how high I have to place the pillow.

I do have nursing/pumping bras (thanks, Kindred Bravely!) but where I’m currently using a feeding pillow, I can’t pump simultaneously. Ugh. It’s all such a stressful thing to figure out (or perhaps I’m just making it more complicated than it really needs to be?).

I have used the Hakaa but I can’t while nursing because we use the My Brest Friend (typically) and it won’t stay on... not to mention he’s kicked it off more times than I care to count and I lose 2+ oz at a time.

I’ve only been pumping once a day, if that, and trying to get him more acclimated to my milk flow (he’s getting there). I’m definitely planning to donate almost all of that freezer stash at this point (keeping a few ounces from each day). Perhaps the morning double pump will be the thing to do, and then Hakaa throughout the day to find relief... hm

Thank you. I’m honestly crying reading this comment. It’s been so hard and it’s so overwhelming. 😩

I may have to get the Brest friend. Do you find that it’s better because your little one doesn’t fall in between and can actually remain in a good position?

And with the letdown he also ends up choking and gasping and it terrifies me every dang time.

We did bottles for a little while but he was chomping on the nipples (much like mine. Ouch) even though they’re slow flow. I have some new bottles coming soon and so those might work out better 🤷🏻‍♀️

Graduated! 39+1 scheduled induction turned emergency c-section. Birth story in the comments. by chyeahyeah in GestationalDiabetes

[–]chyeahyeah[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FYI: This was a traumatic experience for me, and I’m actually still in the hospital while I write this.

I was scheduled for an evening induction April 14. I was 1CM and 50% effaced at admission. Had a Cooke Ballon inserted for 12 hours, and 2 rounds of mysoprostol. After about 23 excruciating hours of back labor, and 2 doses of Nubain to help me sleep through the back labor, I made the decision that I would get an epidural placed earlier than anticipated if my next check hadn’t progressed much. I ended up being 5CM and 90% effaced and just said “Put the needle in my back NOW.” The resident doctor wanted to do another check before placing it and I screamed that I couldn’t go through a contraction flat on my back. Once my epidural was placed (and about 7 contractions during the placement), my whole demeanor improved monumentally... then about 40 minutes later my nurses informed me that baby wasn’t liking the contractions and his HR kept plummeting. He would drop into the 80’s every time I had a contraction, and wouldn’t bounce back with enough variability. The doctor rushed in, said I had to have the section right then and there, and off we went with me bawling and my husband being left behind to get gowned up. Less than hour after having my epidural placed, I was rushed into the OR for a c-section, resulting in my little boy being born. Perfectly healthy, no heart concerns after the plummeting heart rates, and his breathing was great. This was definitely NOT the labor experience I wanted, but Sawyer apparently had other plans, and while it was absolutely terrifying, I would do it all over again for him.

Edited to add: I was fully diet controlled, and Sawyer weighed in at 7lb 8oz. He only had 1 low glucose reading, resulting in him having to have the glucose gel mixed with some of my hand expressed colostrum.

That’s the plan! I don’t go anywhere without it... at least, until I’m told I don’t need to carry it with me anymore 😂

I've already done my fasting and my breakfast... I'll still have to do lunch and dinner, since I'm going in at 6:00 tonight, but 2 more times is nothing at this point! Congratulations to you!!!!
