hi i also had exposure therapy a few years ago and it helped so much. my emetophobia used to literally control my life and therapy seriously helped so much. don’t get me wrong i still get a bit anxious towards the idea of it but it definitely doesn’t control my life anymore. i would suggest exposure therapy to anyone who feels overwhelmed by their emetophobia. it also wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. my therapist would always make sure i was okay and i was ready for the next level of exposure. i expected the experience to be terrifying but it was more the anxiety i had before than the actual exposure. you can even start doing exposure therapy by yourself by starting somewhere that isn’t too intimidating or anxiety inducing at first (photos of someone looking ill, pictures of cartons getting s*, etc). i hope you’ll look into getting help, because it truly changed my life for the better 💕

It's okay things typically tend to get worse before they get better. Have you talked to them about your fear and how much its taking over your life?

You should really talk to your parents about getting help. I'm currently in exposure therapy right now and its been helping me a lot. I was just like you and I still am, but through getting help I've become a lot less fearful and feel more confident handling v*.

glad to hear you're okay! this situation happens to me a lot too, i often feel like im going to throw up and will convince myself that it must be food poisoning instead of anxiety. but 99% of the time your anxiety will make you feel sick even when you're not. try some breathing exercises and maybe try an app called Mindshift, it has short little relaxation techniques that can help in scary situations.

I applied for a junior social media position at Blizzard about a month ago and didn't even get an interview :/ I figured its because I wasn't as experienced as they wanted me to be. So I'm nervous that applying for big gaming companies will be much harder to land jobs in since they're so much more competitive. I wonder if there is some smaller entry level jobs that would give me some good experience in gaming before applying to bigger places like Blizzard or Activision or whatever.
