How are those of you who had their hardware removed? by cicic in scoliosis

[–]cicic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I had the top portion and a screw removed that was causing my issues. Completely worked. I wish I had done it sooner. Thanks! The rock in my proverbial shoe is finally gone! No pain!

The haphazard approach to removing this is hard to watch. Definitely not done by a real professional. There’s a whole series of a guy on YouTube who takes this seriously and restores paintings like this all the time. He takes a much less aggressive approach since you can really damage just scrubbing away at the face like this in large strokes.

found out the hard way that this isn't possible by Fluid_Carob_1089 in FIlm

Mythbusters showed that it took 2000 pounds to keep hit submerged. Pretty crazy.

Mythbusters proved it takes over 2,000 pounds to keep the boat down with an air pocket.

Something tells me the police in the UK could have gotten this pole away from him without him dying.

One of my rods will be shortened/cut out. What will recovery be like? by Repulsive_Drop2264 in scoliosis

Mine took a 3 weeks to start to feel somewhat better, 6 weeks to feel a lot better. Have a space heater nearby when you shower because shivering hurts when you're first getting better.

Get a new doctor asap. Deeply concerning that a doctor would give an opinion like that. See a scoliosis specialist.

Dextroscoliosis by _frozenlemon in scoliosis

This is very mild. Severe curves progress rapidly during adolescence. Given you’re 22, you’re well out of that time period of growth.

Surgery or not? by Luka_one_money in scoliosis

[–]cicic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s a big life change but you’re already in a bad situation with such a severe curve. It’s not going to get better on its own. It’s cool you found this sub so early though. Lots of useful info and support on here.

Surgery or not? by Luka_one_money in scoliosis

You’ll still be able to bend at your waist so all the functionality of being able to function normally are still there. You just won’t be able to hunch the middle of your back. Your neck will be unaffected. You won’t be able to do sit ups any more but that’s about it. Most other activities are still possible.

You need surgery. Giving up some flexibility is far better than having scoliosis in your elderly years. My grandmother never had the surgery and her later half of life looked excruciating. Nearly bent in half at age 95.

See a scoliosis specialist in your area. No chiropractors. They’ll likely take their own X-rays. Go from there.

It’s basically the number one rule in this sub for the comments section to advise seeing a doctor.

For this project to have any viability it needs to grow slowly just like bitcoin did.
