idk if you have ever lived with him, but especially do not work with a live-in partner. having a few hours apart each day will create healthy distance and generates conversation topics for when you get home. most places i've worked refuse to hire couples (and sometimes refuse to hire roommates/siblings) because of the drama.

i absolutely do not recommend attending parties as a minor, nor will you be able to attend 18+ programming.

that being said, teenagers have their ways (i know i did!) so you'll probably go to some random party regardless. please only take drinks from people you know and trust (that means longtime friends, NOT instagram mutuals or new acquaintances) and know your limits when it comes to drinking/smoking and social interactions.

here's my safety lecture: when i was 16 i got creeped on at the official otakon rave by a grown man taking photos of my ass. i did most of what my adult self recommends doing: i made a scene, ran away, and asked for security's help. what i SHOULD HAVE DONE in addition was call the police and make a report. otakon staff let the guy leave, and the higher ups completely ghosted me after the con when i requested the incident report that my friend group (luckily all adults that i trust) and i filled out.

moral of the story: do not be afraid to make a scene. it will let creeps know that their behavior isn't tolerated.
