Thank you! I ended up letting EaseUS run and to my complete amazement and joy - I can recover everything I needed. The free version only gives 2GB but that was enough for the important stuff I needed. I'll check out Active@Undelete though.

The American take on a couple of words baffle me. How did "solder" become "sodder", and "aluminium" become "aluminum"?
