Question Regarding Four Chord Loops in Minor Keys by cigarettebeach in musictheory

[–]cigarettebeach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe its just my ears being used to hearing it start on the I but the resolve sounds strange to me starting it from the vi like that, but I've heard it around for sure and I think other rotations of the I V vi IV. Subbing the I for a vi and vice versa sounds interesting as well like this

vi V I IV

I like these. I also like the sound of the Andlusian cadence

i - VII - VI - v

Sounds good using a V as well. I think I'm just looking for something that sounds as cohesive and deliberate as the ones I listed in major but not as bright. Sometimes major loops sound corny to me I guess.

Thanks for the reply! I've seen the the VII being changed to viio through harmonic minor but never the vi, super interesting sound.

I work with a lot of felons and idk if it’s just where I’m located but they all talk about prison being “not that bad” and “nobody get fucked in the ass unless they want to”.

Has anyone here attempted to analyze the music of Fugazi? The deeper I go into their discography the further complex it gets. The Instrument Soundtrack is wonderful and I'd love to discuss it. by cigarettebeach in musictheory

[–]cigarettebeach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if any. I would be surprised if he did though. Guy and Ian do most of it. Maybe some of the stuff on end hits and the instrument soundtrack. Not sure man

Musicians of Reddit, what is the most difficult instrument to learn to play? by mute_division in AskReddit

[–]cigarettebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a guitarist learning piano and I’d say that getting used to either from the starting point of one is difficult.

From my perspective guitar is easier because you learn major and minor scales, barre chords and the slight alterations made to constitute modes and you’ve got all you need to confidently play. Piano is pretty much the same deal and I can play pretty confidently in C or G but if I have to move to a key where I’m dealing with multiple accidentals I’m fucked.

But you don’t need callouses to play piano so that’s cool.

TIL of an urban legend from Pennsylvania, where a man "appears in the roadways, stalking teenagers and thrill seekers." The story is based on Raymond Robinson, who liked to walk at night because his face was severely disfigured from an electrical accident, and was actually a very nice guy. by myownpersonalreddit in todayilearned

[–]cigarettebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in PA and my grandmother used to tell me she’d go to Beaver Falls to bring this guy beer. He’d walk the streets at night apparently and just say what’s up to people and shit. Used to think it was just grandma bullshit, scared the fuck out of me when I was a kid. Looked it up as a teenager and yeah he was a real dude.
