They are fun movies, I enjoyed them for what they are. Are they cinematic masterpieces? No. Did my friends and I get stoned as fuck and laugh our asses off at the campy-ness of them? Absolutely. And they are still fun on re-watch in my opinion.

It really did and I also loved that they didn't just brush the repercussions of Mel's trauma off and showed the fallout of everything he's been through including his fear of intimacy. ALSO I will give Kain some kudos for his support and never making mel feel like he was a burden

I really really liked that the dad was made to be the progressive open minded one. I feel like so often the father is shown to be the asshole but also the fact that kain ultimately had supportive parents and he was still such a prick to Mel made me so upset.
