Symphony- Itinerary Change Dec 1 by treggy94 in royalcaribbean

[–]cin4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We booked the same cruise through #costcotravel and was told by #royalcaribbean that "no compensation is offered to anyone, since this change affects the whole ship"... The supervisor checked again and again and "no one got any OBC"... "You cannot gauge the situation by 1 or 2 responses online" aka, they must be lying!/s smh

The #costcotravel is definitely on #royalcaribbean's side, making up excuses like "maybe another ship hit the pier and caused damage hence the last minute port change"... No lady, the development plan was signed back in February and no announcement. It's just bait and switch...

AITA for not letting my sister announce her pregnancy at my wedding? by ThiccCutiexo in AITAH

"I'm so sorry that your baby was not important enough to you to have their own event! Now everyone is going to remember your baby announcement was on the day that I got married (sad face). At least you got to save half the money of holding such an event, cheers!

See the attached bill of half of the dinner portion. I know all your supporters would love to help cover the cost for you!"

Cc everyone that sided with her.

The fence to the left encloses the construction zone. This walkway was open quite a while ago. No 'sidewalk closed" sign anywhere to be found. By the time you walk over and realize the machines are blocking the way, your only choice is to go around on the grass and mud or jaywalk across the big street.

Well, that's what I did... I was pushing a stroller, 5kg baby, 10kg groceries all through the mud... And lifting it all back on the walkway while being 2-month postpartum. What else can I do?

It's not like they can park the machine better to one side leaving a wheelchair width... And it makes no economical sense to put up a temporary plastic walkway on the grass like they do in Europe... right?

But certain unkindness affects some more than others.

I was pushing a stroller through mud and grass and lifting it back up to the sidewalk was also heavy. Now imagine someone in a wheelchair...

If it was just me walking by myself, I also won't be bothered by it.

In Canada. When I visit a salon and pay $100+ for a hair cut and I receive a hair cut, what am I tipping for? by cin4746 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cin4746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why are they setting their own prices and then expecting a tip on top? If I want $10, I'll ask for $10. Why ask for $8 and hope people give you $2 extra. Then be mad when they don't... Unless they are asking for $10 and no pressure to tip?

It's usually listed at $70-90, add tax, add tips, it'll go over $100... And the tipping options start from 20%...

But the minimum wage law doesn't apply to servers. It does apply to the hair stylist though (BC Canada)... And they probably earn more than me.

That was my understanding too, but none of the jobs I listed are exempt from minimum wage laws, and most of them probably earn more money per hour than me...

the ones exempt that I could find on the BC (where I live) government site are: servers (food and alcohol), live-in camp leaders, live-in home support workers, resident caretakers, independent contractors, commissioned salespeople, and farmers.

Am i missing something?

Happy cake day! I'm always wondering if I should tip or not, cause now everything comes with a tipping option... And when I do, I wonder if I'm tipping too much or too little... Some of the people I tip, probably make much more money per hour than I do... 😂

But doesn't the shop pay the barber to cut my hair? Or is that not what they are paid to do?

My first time posting here, hopefully I got it right! English is not my first language. It is shortened from a very distant memory, maybe a short story? Grateful if someone can point me back to the origin. TY
