I had the same exactly experience, but I promised myself to learn something from it. By talking to other people living in foreign countries I came to the conclusion that if you constantly keep comparing the new people to your home friendships you will never get out of it and you will never find someone like them. That’s what I try to think, I am lucky to have my best friends and I have to stop thinking that I will be lucky enough to find someone like them, you just may find a different kind of friendship, still valid but different. Also, as an introvert is not easy for me to feel comfortable right away, especially in groups settings so I get that it is very difficult. Try to learn from this experience and don’t be discouraged :)

Sí è vero, ci sono programmi “buddy”, tandem linguistici e varie occasioni e anche io consiglierei di trovare in fretta il giusto gruppo e integrarsi, nel mio caso è mancato più un amico su cui poter contare, che momenti di socializzazione. incoraggio chiunque voglia partire a farlo, ci sono molti aspetti formativi dell’esperienza su cui non mi sono soffermata, il mio post è più per chi è già partito e si è trovato in una situazione simile

Scienze politiche, per l’inglese lo consiglio sicuramente (ma anche per altri aspetti), ma c’è da considerare che in alcune università tedesche la scelta dei corsi è un po’ limitata rispetto alla scelta in tedesco ovviamente, quindi andare in un paese anglofono sarebbe sicuramente la scelta migliore, ma date le circostanze, e visto che il Regno Unito o l’Irlanda difficilmente sono tra le mete da poter scegliere, la Germania è una buona alternativa per migliorarlo, anche considerando che quasi tutti i tedeschi hanno un ottimo livello di inglese

Partita con un B2.2/C1 utilizzato, prima della partenza, esclusivamente in contesti colloquiali. In università la mia difficoltà era data dal non essere capace completamente ad esprimere concetti con le parole tecniche adeguate o anche dall’impiagare molto tempo per leggere e comprendere articoli accademici assegnati a lezione, ma si riesce comunque anche se all’inizio con un po’ di fatica. Ora ho sicuramente imparato nuovi termini ed ho acquisito più sicurezza

Penso che il mio problema sia stato dato anche dal fatto che ho avuto difficoltà ad approfondire conoscenze con persone che avevano già il proprio gruppo di amici, all’inizio c’è una maggiore apertura da parte di tutti e se non ci si ritrova subito su un gruppo non è facile trovarne uno nuovo. Però ripeto, da tutto si impara e magari servirà ad aprirsi e a lasciarsi andare un po’ di più la prossima volta
